Anna Belgarde: My Experience As A Nurse
Hi, I am Anna Belgarde. I have been working at Heartland Care Center as a CNA since July 2015, before that I worked at Rolette Community Care for 1 year. I have been there in the front lines of nursing, I love it. I love being able to help and care for people. My mom is a nurse and has been for 20 years. She never pushed me towards nursing, I think she wanted me to figure out who I wanted to be. I think with her experience as a nurse I have learned through her what it takes to care for a person and the sacrifices she makes in order to be the best nurse possible. I think she worked hard to be where she is at now. I am grateful for her showing me what my calling is also. I want to be a nurse; I believe with my compassion and caring nature I was born to be a nurse. I was born to help people and take their sufferings and make them at least comfortable. …show more content…

It took me a long time to realize where my life is going and I am glad I finally found what I was meant to do. I went through a couple years of schooling but never knew what I wanted to do. I was talking to a couple of friends about the CNA program. I never thought I would like it, but I thought I would just try it. I went through the program and found out it was more than I thought it was. I have come to love my job and only want to further my education and continue in the work that I have come to

Nurses share the joys, pains, and triumphs of their patients. Everyday nurses show-up for duty, receive their patients, and without hesitation begin to become a valued member of an extended family. I initially went to school with the goal of becoming a medical doctor. At the time, I believed becoming a doctor was the only way I could ultimately give back to my community through my passion for science. The decision to pursue the field of advanced nursing, developed after sharing my concerns about healthcare in the Mississippi Delta with my local family nurse practitioner.…

When my grandfather was dying of cancer, he spent as much time as he could at home with his family by his side and when the time came, he was transferred to hospital, I was 14 at the time, still very young I knew it was not about how I was feeling, this pain was his and my grandmothers. I helped look after him for the two years he was diagnosed and it was during that time, I knew where my heart was and that was nursing. With my own experience of being in and out of hospital with two complicated pregnancies, I was in awe of the nurses and midwives who did everything they could to make me feel secure and safe, I was inspired and made an already certain career choice, even more evident.…
