Introduction 60 percent of the 200 million tons of garbage that Arabs produce yearly could be recycled. It may seem easy just to throw whatever people have finished using in the trash, but our wasteful ways have negative effects on the environment. The solution to this problem is to recycle. It is the best way to protect natural resources and to reduce the costs of processing garbage and of cleaning up. The citizens of the Arab world should start thinking seriously regarding this matter. Reproducing some substances into new materials may help humanity find fruitful solutions to get rid of pollution, thus, scientists work prominently avoiding more damages on nature resources.

60 percent of the 200 million tons of garbage that Arabs produce yearly could be recycled. By recycling, people can save their country from being buried in rubbish. Much of the garbage that 's now thrown away could be recycled. 42 percent is papers made of trees. Eight percent is glass. Nine percent is metal. Seven percent is plastic. 18 percent is yard waste. The last ten percentage is food waste. Government studies showed that 60 percent of all this garbage could be recycled. Arab environmentalists suggested a higher percentage as much as 70-90 percentages. If Arabs keep recycling more of their garbage, they can also save valuable resources, such as trees, water, energy, and metals. My grandmother says that once, there was a huge forest surrounded by our hometown, but now it is almost gone. By recycling newspapers, trees will not be destructed. For example, recycling newspapers can save some of thousands of trees that are sacrificed each week in order to produce Sunday newspaper in Arab countries. Government studies showed that people also can save water and energy by recycling. Recycling used papers can reduce the amount of water used to make new ones by 60 percent. In addition, amounts of energy also can be saved by a higher percentage of 70 percent. Studies show that producing aluminum bottles and cans from recycled ones lesser the percentage of amount of energy to produce new aluminum materials to a percentage of 95 percent. And this is the biggest saving from recycling! Air and Water pollution is a thorny problem that Arabs face. Recycling garbage could reduce such a problem. About 12 percent of the garbage in the Arab region was incinerated in the last years. Although incinerators seem to be friendlier to the environment than the landfills, they produce at least 200 different organic chemicals that are extremely toxic. Some of these chemicals are released to the air; others may remain in the ash. For example, Dixon is one of those toxic chemicals. Other toxic byproducts of garbage incineration include mercury and lead which both can lodge permanently in someone 's lungs. Then clearly incinerations of garbage are costly to not only to the environment but also to people health. People often object to recycling by complaining that recycling costs too much. Studies estimated that if people achieve a higher percentage of recycling, this will cost less than traditional garbage disposal. Thus, people must understand that recycling saves money by reducing waste. Because environmental and cleaning up costs, related with all the landfills, increase as the garbage increases, people need to recycle in order to reduce the amount of garbage they produce and that is thrown away directly into landfills to be able to reduce such costs. When garbage goes to landfills, it creates poisonous pollution and a huge cost of cleaning up. In addition, an area that has a high population of people, and a high amount of garbage left, has a land full of landfills. Consequently, that land has no other functions other than having landfills. So it will never return to its original concept. For example, materials such as, metals and plastics may take years and centuries to decompose. Glass and newspapers take years as well. Hence, landfills of garbage are expensive. Recycling could be beneficial to economy! Recycling products needs more industrial fields and factories, more new jobs and more labor forces. For example, recycling may be resulted in a high increase in Arabs economy and let them produce new materials and products, as well as it will produce millions of new jobs in different fields and adds billions of dollars to the economy. People believe that some resources are being supplied. For instance, people believe that papers and newspapers do not need to be recycled at all, because more trees are being planted in order to fill the need of using papers all over the Arab world. The high rate of cutting, and replanting trees make animals poorer and have less habitat A final strong argument for recycling is anchored in people 's respect for the Earth. Nowadays, it 's common for Arabs not to care and appreciate the Earth, although their grandfathers and their ancestors tried as hard as they can not to waste anything. They cared about animals and valued them. They appreciated the nature, and saved natural and food resources. Ancestors believed that if people waste, destroy resources and exhausted the nature, nature usefulness will definitely increase, and will result in dejection the future of their children. Almost everything people use is recyclable. And all environmental and financial reasons are compelling. Arabs, and the whole world, have caused pollution, disasters, and other complicated problems related to nature, so only them, can solve such issues. Recycling makes our Earth a better place and a cleaner environment so that the people of today grant the children of tomorrow well developed and enlarged forms of life.

Consumers have also begun to recycle more frequently which benefits the planet because its resources are not being consumed at a much higher rate. By recycling simple everyday items, such as glass or plastic, resources can be replenished. The cost of recycling is very economical because everyone profits from it. Landfills are filled with some materials that are not biodegradable and recycling these items reduces not only the amount of waste in the landfills, but also keeps energy consumption and pollution down. For example, recycling the newspaper or any type of paper will prevent…

When thrown into a recycle bin in a college biology class, where does that plastic water bottle head off to? Does it arrive in a landfill in India, in the Gulf Coast, or reused in other bottles? The research question that will be addressed is; how efficient is recycling, from the bin to reusable material, and how well does it reduce landfills compared to incineration? Answering this question will be useful for environmental scientists and other related fields to determine the importance and necessity of material recycling. Reducing landfills using recycling can help to clean the environment and atmosphere so it is important to know exactly how much recycling helps and if it can improve.…

Furthermore, Pellow reinforces the concept that governmental policies can directly damage groups of people or a certain race by pointing out the ironic conditions that take place in recycling industries. Pellow states that “solid waste is a fact of life” (1). Humans as a species tend to aggregate, making the disposal of waste a complicated issue. Disposal practices lead to divided political opinions and negative environmental impacts, such as pollution. And, although all humans contribute to producing waste, not all humans share the burden of managing this garbage. For instance, Pellow observed the social and economic conditions taking place under a recycling center located within Chicago. The foundation behind the idea of recycling is to foster the concern for environmental respect. Therefore, a recycling center should be a place where people are aware of their actions and what the resulting consequences may be. However, many environmental problems and social inequalities arose within the community of Chicago.…

Recycling greatly benefits many aspects of the world, particularly the environment. Almost everything used in today’s society is manufactured from plastic (i.e. water/ shampoo/ mouthwash bottles, food containers, furniture, technology, etc.). Due to this, not recycling plastic can lead to many problems in our environment. Recycling plastic promotes the conservation of energy and natural resources. It also contributes to the decrease of water and air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. To add, recycling plastic can save landfill space, or structure…

(a) The issue that I and my group agreed upon was recycling as we wanted to raise awareness on the importance of recycling and help people to understand the benefits of recycling; Recycling helps conserve important raw materials and protects natural habitats for the future. Using recycled materials in the manufacturing process uses considerably less energy than that required for producing new products from raw materials – even when comparing all associated costs including transport etc. Plus there are extra energy savings because more energy is required to extract, refine, transport and process raw materials ready for industry compared with providing industry-ready materials.…

In the article, “Recycling Is Not Garbage” environmentally Defense fund scientist Richard A. Denison and economic analyst John F. Ruston rebut a series of myths that they say have been promoted by industrial opponents in an effort to undermine the environmentally valuable and successful recycling movement. One of them is that recycling is not necessary because landfilling trash is environmentally safe. But this statement is simply wrong. “In fact, 250 out of 1,204 toxic waste sites on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund National Priority List are former municipal solid waste landfills” (Denison 280). That means landfills are major sources of air and water pollution, including greenhouse gas emissions. Another myth is that recycling is not cost effective, and should pay for itself. As discussed in “Recycling Is Not Garbage” an analysis of nine years of detailed data collected by the Seattle Solid Waste Utility shows that, after a two year startup period, recycling services saved the city's solid waste management program $1.7 to $2.8 million per year (Denison 281). Thus, we do not expect landfills or incinerators to pay for themselves, nor should we expect this of recycling. No other form of waste disposal, or even waste collection, pays for itself. Waste management is simply a cost society must…

Recycling is a major part of our society. It is something that we as American citizens do daily without thinking twice about it. That is one of the main reasons I chose to write this paper on Recycling sustainability. The role of recycling to preserving our environment and to live in a sustainable way is a lot more important than many people think it is. One of the main reasons I chose to write this paper on recycling is because it is a major part of our everyday lives and it is something that most people and businesses do. As many people think they are helping by recycling, (do not get me wrong, it is a major help to our environment) they do not understand that it has major negative effects on the environment. Recycling is said to be the basis for sustainability. At…
