Neptune Gourmet Seafood is faced with the issue of increased supply in its market. The response action is very time sensitive as a failure to react may cause severe loss in brand perception. Though they have increased investments as of late to produce more and also maintain high quality products through their freezing technology, they still need to find a way to combat long-term supply issues. They should not threaten their high brand image through low cost maneuvers, as this is the key driver of their competitive advantage. The recommendation I propose is to partner with very well known supplement retailer GNC to begin exclusive production of fish oil. On top of that, Neptune should recommend to GNC in the partnership that they expand to the young and upcoming market of frozen healthy meal delivery. GNC can partner with a smaller company that has already established their healthy meal plans, such as MagicKitchen.com. Utilizing GNC’s distribution and marketing prowess, both Neptune and GNC will be able to sustain competitive advantages through high brand equity and first mover advantages in a small, yet poised to grow market. As the world starts to become more health conscious, it will be a huge competitive advantage to have already set up the correct infrastructure to tack this market.…

When confronted with allegations of lobster fraud, Red Lobster responded with the following statement, “ that their most recent mixture of lobster contains both Maine lobster and Langostino lobster and Red Lobster said that they question the validity of Inside Edition’s test where they found one cup of bisque that only contained Langostino lobster”(Taylor). However, some restaurants like Sofia’s, a go to seafood restaurant in Manhattan, slammed the door in Inside Edition’s reporters face in denial when reporters went to go confront the restaurant” (Inside Edition). Red Lobster also said that they will be making changes to their menu to inform customers about what their lobster dishes actually contain. Not only does this affect the restaurants but it also affects the customers. Most people will think twice before ordering an expensive lobster…

In his article David Foster Wallace proposes that the world’s largest lobster-eating celebration may actually be a massive animal-abusing process comparable to the cruelty to that of the Aztec’s human-sacrificing ritual. Wallace introduces Maine’s annual Marine Lobster Festival (MLF) held in late June attracts thousands of tourists seeking to devour the “steak meat” of the Atlantic Ocean – lobster. A lobster is a crustacean, existing in the region since colonial times with such abundance that early settlers condemned lobster meat as low-class. Presently, lobsters are considered a luxurious dish, which is a misconception Wallace thinks the MLF is trying to change. The chaotic dining area and meaninglessly-long lines attract few locals, but Wallace…

When I first read the title of the story, my mind went in all directions as to what it could be about, besides the obvious, lobsters. Although, in the first few passages the author talks about how smelly the Main Lobster Festival is, how hot the weather was, how long the lines were, and discusses lobster biology in great detail; with this start to his article you think you are going to read only about this festival and what it all entails. Almost like it is an advertisement to get people to show up.…

One thing about Red Lobster the prices could be high, but they treat you well. Waiters come back to your table constantly and they are always ready to refill your drink, without having to ask. If it is Friday or Saturday night, it can take time to get your food served because it gets very busy. Overall, I love the service. Red Lobster has a very relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has many seats available for customers so that the waiting line is not so long. The seating area is usually blue and red which gives you the feeling you are at sea, while enjoying your divine flavorful lobster. They also have a huge tank with live lobsters near the entrance, which reminds you of the ocean (and it’s fun to watch them move while waiting). This is a great place to go on a date. If your date does not like seafood they have the option to choose tender chicken or juicy steak. This restaurant is also a great way to get messy and break the ice between the two of you. Order the one pound crab and start cracking the tough outside of the crab to get to the meat. This can be a lot of fun, and getting messy with your meal around people you hardly know can create comfortable vibe. My favorite is the one pound crab, with the buttery sauce on the…
