Did you know that education plays an important role in our nation? This is why deciding to go back to school was one of the smartest decisions I have made in my life. Since I have started classes, I have really enjoyed my class Introduction to University Studies. I have learned to set goals, manage time, and use effective study habits while using my resources to help me in future classes and starting my career.
Deciding to continue my education was a very smart decision. After starting my classes I begin to wonder, why am I doing this? What will I gain in the long run from getting a college degree? After thinking long and hard about it, I came to the conclusion that my career would be the long term results of getting college degree. The career I want has an education requirement of at least an Associate’s degree. So I believe that a little hard work will pay off for the job of my dreams.
The Introduction of University Studies offered a variety of assessments as well as many tools. Assessments help us identify our strengths as well as our weaknesses academically and many of the tools help us choose a career. Learning your strengths and weakness prepares you for future courses and your career plan. It allows you to improve on your weakness for things that may come in future courses while letting you pick a career in which you have strengths in. Some of the tools we used in this class helped us choose a career. It matched us with careers based on our strengths and weaknesses established from taking the assessments. I would recommend anyone to take these assessments and use these tools rather or not you are a University of Phoenix student.
One thing that I have learned from my Introduction to University Studies class that not only helps me academically but also professionally is goal setting. I learned that you have to set goals that are not only realistic, but ones that are attainable
