Reflection: Educational Years and Respect Award
MEMORIAL REFLECTION
My name Helen, and I am trying to reflect on my elementary memories. I have had many positive and negative experiments in elementary. I have met many friends and teacher. I have learned many lessons when collaborating with my peers. Here is a reflection of my elementary memories. It all began in JK when I first left my parents hand and excitedly left for the first day of school at Wilclay P.S., my teacher name is Mrs. Brook, she was always so humble to meet my best friends Sindy, Gaiethri, Bradly, Tanniesha and me. Every day after school Tanniesha and I would walk to my house with my mom or my neighbor, who son also goes to kindergarten, sometimes picks us up. In SK I was in the same classroom but had a different teacher, her name was Ms. Brand. She is very nice and was my favorite teacher from that school. In that year I had my fist bee sting, lost my first tooth, got my fist chocolate milk order that was filled with ice and my first graduation. I then moved to Markham. In grade 1 I went to Cornell Village P.S. My teacher was Mrs. Balkos, My best friends that supported me through out that year was Sabrina. In that year I received my first respect award and a blue care bare key chain on my birthday. That was also the year when mason tattle tailed on me for sharing a secret to the person beside me. In grade 2 I was in Mrs. D’angelos class, in that class my best friends were Jessie and Sydney. I don’t really remember much of this year but I do remember getting my first C+ and got my second respect award. In grade 3 I was in the same class and had the same teacher but it was a split of grade 2 and 3. My friends for that year were Madison and Julian in grade 2 and Jessie in grade 3. Our class won the golden garbage award and we also had bike a thon. We got an ID cards and certificate for riding our bikes safely. I also got my third respect award. In grade 4 I was in Mrs. Collier’s class, she was one of my favorite teachers because

In the year of 1963, I started school in the first grade. We did not have kindergarten in the little town I lived in. I in Plew, Mo about 12 miles from Carthage Mo, in my first grade we were on one side of the room and the second grade was on the other side. I cannot remember much, but we had a lot of recess time and played for longer periods of time.…

During that time we lived in a studio in my grandpas house. The school i attended at the time was Dwight eisenhower elementary. Everyone thought i was a genius because i got 4 diplomas at the trimester awards while everyone got two or one. What i remember the most from living with my grandpa was every weekend he used to knock at our door at 7 am just to come talk to us. It was annoying because he wouldn't stop until we opened the door. He was always so eager to spend time with his grandkid. It was nice being the only child, but then came 2006 and i was no longer the queen of the house. Before i knew it in 2008 we had another package included into my family. Our family was growing rapidly so my parents decided to move out into a much bigger house, which is where i live today. I moved to a new school called carrillo ranch elementary. Everything was pretty smooth, no worries, no stress, and easy going such as in the beginning of a roller…

In grade 6 I went to a great school called David Leeder Middle School. Even though none of my friends from grade 5 were in my class, I had an amazing year. All of my teachers were fabulous except for one. My math and science teacher was the worst teacher I had ever had. I remember that she would always yell at us for asking her questions about our work. In grade 7, I was also in David Leeder, but this was the best year I had ever had in my life. Every single teacher of mine were very good and they taught everything very thoroughly. Also, I made a lot of friends during this year. Academically I had the best year and I took part in extra curriculars such as soccer and volleyball. During these two years I went to Pakistan, I went to New York…

Shoemaker’s class I had recess. Since my friends and I usually didn’t get down to the gym fast enough, we didn’t always get a ball to mess around with. So we instead decided to stay in her class during that time. We had loads of fun creating memories upon memories that will never be forgotten. Memories like when we put on impaired driving goggles and stumbled over everything. Memories of us eating all her yummy peanut butter filled pretzels and asking for help on assignments. I had grammar with a different teacher but if I did not understand something, I would ask Mrs. Shoemaker. She would always explain the homework to me. Also, if I had to write an essay she would help me and then look over it for mistakes. Making me a stronger person today, Mrs. Shoemaker never let me give…

Throughout my life, I have moved three times, lived in two different states, and been to five different schools. From these experiences, I have had the opportunity to meet a variety of different people, for this I am very grateful. I consider my first memories to have started when my family and I moved to Overland Park Kansas. The excitement of living in a new neighborhood, and house, was almost unbearable for my younger self. Once we moved in, I had a chance to explore the new surroundings and meet some of my best childhood friends. I also enjoyed six wonderful years in Elementary school. However, once middle school started, I observed the adoption of a more competitive atmosphere and the abandonment of standard teaching methods. This shift…

From kindergarten to the 6th grade I went to a private Catholic School in Rancho Cucamonga called Sacred Heart Parish School. The school was complete hell, the teachers were unreasonable and a unrealistic expectation for children at that age. The school was very small and consisted of only 300 students for grades K through 12 making the group of students very close knit. There were some hinders to this, but I created life long relationships and an array of beautiful memories. While that was a pleasing part to the school, it was not enough to keep me there.…

That year, during the "free" period during the start of each day we were assigned to the same classes. We'd sit in our science teacher's room and learn about upcycling, or the gym and opt out of dodge ball to talk about bands or how I thought you looked like Leonard Nimoy for some reason. We'd even speculated that Spock was your dad. You got me into new music, tv shows, books, movies. You encouraged my writing, even though it was bad, you'd even done the whole banana bat thing. The last day of school we'd even had a fake sword fight with our yearbooks out of sight from everyone else.…

It’s a bler, trying to look back on when I was a preschooler, so first grade was a mess. First grade is a life changer. Going to Tri-Point in Piper City not even for a full year. Tri-Point is a small old school just like ROWVA. I remember changing schools because my parents got a divorce. We moved to Peoria and lived there with my mom's parents. I got transferred to a Catholic school. Every Wednesday the whole place went to church right across the street. It was the worst thing ever sitting in the old creepy church listening the Father talk about only “God” knows what. My teacher's name was Mrs. Heartstick, no I did not make the name up. She grossed me out. He hands very dry and cracked, they looked like an old man's hands who had worked his whole…

It was the craziest out of all of them. This was the year that we had a new girl come to school, her name was Kirsten. It was the fourth day of school and she was doing fine, then everyone started to hate her, and then would be really mean. She seemed to be cool, I don't know why people didn't like her. Me and my best friend were called into the office and asked to be friends with her, and tell them what the other people are doing her, like being mean or talking bad about her. The experience was the worst at first because if you're friends with her you were cool or talk to. That was hard for me because I have a lot of friends at St. Peters, and I didn't want to not be their friend, but now that I think about it they weren't real friends. So I made the choice to be friends with her and not listen to everyone…

In first grade, it was my first year in public school so I didn’t have as much friends as the the people that were in kindergarten last year. When I walked into the room, both of my parents on each of my side they introduced to my teacher then I sat in the empty seat. The person assigned to sit next was a girl named Chloe. At first sight, I mesmerized by the amount of silly bands she had. At that moment I knew I had to be her friend.…
