Reflections of the past and hopes for the future
Reflections of the Past and Hopes for the Future- 2013
Reflecting back on my year, I have had many ups and downs. We should accept the fact that life doesn’t always go on the way we plan. Life can surprise you. It can make you cry. And eventually it will put a smile on your face after all the stormy moments. My reflections of myself were not really what I had hoped they would be. I really had to tell myself to stop looking at the things I do so negatively , and turn my thoughts into positive ones. Here are some of my negative thoughts. I feel that I could have worked harder and achieved my academic targets. However, I am not as motivated towards studying as I wish to be. It’s a weak link that I cannot stay focused on one thing for too long. So, my to do list is always a never ending to do list. I feel that I have so many aspirations for myself. However, I don’t know how and where to start. I still can’t figure out what I want to do with my life, what kind of a person I want to be as I grow up. At least, I’m trying to get my life more organized, one small step at a time. I have started to realize my duty towards my family and my job. I have got over my childish acts. It’s time that I grew up. Talking about my job, I have become more aware of my responsibilities. Last year has been a pretty good year for me academically although I haven’t achieved all of my goals. I have attempted to get a good result in O’level and I have been selected among the National Top Ten achievers. Moreover, I had travelled to Addu and Male’. I love travelling, so, it was both a very exciting experience for me. Now that 2013 is upon us, I have more goals to meet. First of all, I want my course to be a success. I hope that It can help me in building up my career. I want to continue my job as I don’t want to depend on anyone. I want to stand up on my own feet and become a successful person. I want to be able to fulfill all my responsibilities more than I do now. Moreover, I want

Gwen Harwood’s work frequently focuses on woman being demoralised by society’s practices that reduce her to a lesser being. A common worldwide value that Harwood rejects as the normality in life with her poems. Harwood battles against the traditions that she believes support this downgrading by continually returning to the issue. Due to Harwood’s existence in a time where women of Australia still fought to vote and for a pay check to match a man’s, Harwood too displays her support. “The Lions Bride” is centred on the subject of marriage and entails the ugliness of the situations that are specific to women. This remains relevant to the modern world because of the ongoing struggle for equality. By using a wedding as a platform to highlight societies imposed traditions on females she seeks to shock the conventional expectations by demonising the widely romantisied event. Harwood extends this and questions treatment of women in the world before any vows are made.…

We were just talked exactly what Akiva Goldsman, a movie producer, said: “the truth is, it’s not what happens to us. It’s what we do with it.” We cannot change what has happened to us, but we can change how we accept realities and how we deal with them. I have a friend who comes to me to say “my life sucks.” She always takes anything negatively even if what has happened to her doesn’t seem that bad for my other friends and I. Talking to her has reminded me that depends on how we look at an event, one’s life can be totally different.…

I think that sometimes when life gets busy the first thing I do is well on what isn’t working. There isn’t enough time to accomplish everything I need to do. I feel like I am spinning out of control trying to find the ever elusive balance and continue to drop every single ball I am juggling in the process. I somehow think that in the hope of being everything I am letting down from the people all around me. For me it becomes a spiral that I can’t control. Negativity never breeds anything but contempt. Nothing good can come from getting down on myself. These feeling won’t just go away when I wave a magic wand. It takes a complete overhaul of mindset my ability to see each individual tree in the forest, it means I need to slow down and celebrate what matters. So that’s what I am trying to do , focus on the little things, the everyday successes that I know are right in front of me. It requires me to look through a much different lens, one of gratitude. I have amazing people in my life. My family is a unbelievable support and they are my heart. I have colleagues and friends near and far that I can go to for almost anything I need. A multitude of opportunities present themselves daily to learn, connect, and grow. I have the ability to embrace opportunities to wonder, ask questions, and try new things. I am grateful.…

    my worse fault

I’ve always been really shy and antisocial. Every time I talk, I make everything so awkward and it makes me think that people don’t like me. Now, I just sit there and listen to other people’s conversation instead of being in the conversation. I am also terrified of situations that haven’t happened yet. Like the first day of school. A week before school starts I would think about bad things like, what if no one talks to me? What if I have bad classes? What if my teachers don’t like me? All of those negative thoughts would be in my head and it’ll stress me out. My mom would always tell me that everything is going to be fine, there is nothing to worry about and tells me to think positive. I don’t thing I can think positive because I always expect thing to turn out bad. I don’t want to be disappointed if I think positive. I’m so jealous of people who were born to be optimistic. I’m trying to be optimistic but I just can’t help but seeing the bad side of everything. This is why being pessimistic is my worst fault.…

what made me who i am now

I asked myself, who am I now? How am I now? Honestly, it was quite hard for me to answer this and it made me realize how much I don’t know myself yet. But then I still tried to look back at what I do or how I usually am when I’m with my friends or whenever I am just alone. Then I realize how sad I actually am. Not in a way that I hate my life and in a way that I would want to kill myself and stuff like that but just sad for some reason that I can’t explain. I have to be honest that I’m not a positive person, not at all. I always think negative in a way that I would tell myself that I would just fail and nothing will happen to me and whatnot. I, then start to think to myself, what made me to become this kind of person?…
