This reflective essay will focus on my experience in the classroom and the development of crucial planning and teaching strategies in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

Each strategy was extremely effective in assisting student's learning and managing behaviour. In order to further improve my practice in future lessons, I will ensure that I take on board my supervising teacher's feedback in regard to behaviour management. Therefore, one of my goals for my field experience is to make sure that I use a firmer and louder voice when reminding students how they should be behaving. Another goal for my next field experience is to provide Students with feedback on their work to ensure that they are aware of ways they can improve their learning. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for having been given the opportunity to complete my first field experience in such a welcoming school environment. It has been an extremely rewarding experience knowing that I have been able to make a small difference in each student's learning especially the low-level year 1 students are worked with consistently throughout my placement. I have learnt a numerous number of valuable teaching, and behaviour management strategies throughout my time at Seven Hills State School. I am certainly looking forward to implementing them into upcoming field experiences, and in my own future classroom.
