Some of the pros that came with joining Christianity was that both groups (The Natives and Europeans) both had meaning that affiliated with religion, giving them a sense of meaning. Without that they felt empty, causing depression, angst, or anxiety. It also gave the groups hope and inspiration. At the time their worlds were ever changing and Christianity gave a sense of comfort and structure for many, it gave them a reliable foundation to turn to. Lastly many of the churches that were built provided places for the two groups to meet and socialize together outside of possibly working with each other. While there were many other pros of introducing the new faith to the natives, there were many cons that followed. Many of the natives had to stop or give up practicing their current religion because of the overtake of Christianity. Because of the conflict between religions there were many fights and battles that broke out resulting in countless lives lost from both groups. It was hard to keep peace because many thought that their beliefs were the only one and that they had to abide by their rules and that all others were wrong. It also discouraged freedom of thought because it went along with the bible, making the followers think that, that was the only way. Lastly it cause a separation not only between the two groups but also within the groups, meaning that those who did accept Christianity were majority making those who didn’t the minority, making them feel small or less
