The general meaning of ethics is the balance of morals and principles. Generally ethics has to do with particular groups, and in each group they are constantly changing. These changes happen due to factors in life, factors such as; age, religion and gender. Ethics is a very debatable topic, due to the fact that ethics is made up on stereotypes. Every law springs from a system of values and beliefs, every law is an instance of authorizing morality. (David F. Gillespie, 2006)
Law predictably applies a shaping effect over the beliefs, character, and actions of the nation’s people. Those who attempt to separate morality from law consequently are in search both of the impossible and the destructive. The question before us is not whether or not to legislate morality, but which moral system should be made legally compulsory.
Pornography is an issue that borderlines between freedom of speech and awareness. However, where does one draw the line between free speech and discrimination?
Religious views on pornography often discourage people of numerous religions from observing pornography which is prompting the support for regulations restraining its publication. However, different religious groups do not always come to an agreement on what is classified as pornographic, and some religious groups believe that freedom of expression should be favoured over restrictions. (Comparative Constitutional Law, 2009)
There is no direct exclusion mentioned of pornographic media in the Bible. Pornography was neither as established or as well developed during biblical times as it is today. Many Christians base their beliefs on pornography due to the clarification of Matthew 5:27-28.
