The Data Set for Assignments in file DataSetForAss presents Weekly Income (WI), Weekly Expenditure on Food (WEF), Highest Level of Education (HLE)1 , Family Size (FS), and Gender of the Head of Household (GHH)2 for the a population of 500 households. Households are named by number from 1 to 500 as shown in Column A. Columns B to F record these households’ WI, WEF, HLE, FS and GHH, respectively. Column I presents 45 randomly selected households as your sample, where each number is the name of the household in your sample.
Assignment Tasks:
1. T1: Organize your sample data in a spreadsheet (See Sample Selection Sheet below).
2. T2: Plot the 45 sample points of WI and WEF values that you obtained in T1 on a scatter diagram. (Plot WI values along the X-axis and WEF values along the Y-axis.)
3. T3: Develop a suitable tabular form and graphical bar charts of the WI, WEF and FS frequency.
4. T4: Determine estimates of the range, median, mode (or modal interval), mean, 1st & the 3rd Quartiles or (25th & 75th percentiles), the standard deviation, variance and coefficient of variation of WI ,WEF and FS.
5. T5: Write a non-technical report interpreting your descriptive statistics, tabular and graphic results obtained from T3 and T4
