1. Apologise- Tom Peters wasn’t in- playing hockey for Wales.
2. The first thing is to research the Geneva mechanism as this is what the whole task is about. Jack and Liam researched the basics of a Geneva mechanism and what it would generally be used for, the main use of a Geneva mechanism is clocks, gears and rotating disk shafts. It is one of the most commonly used devises for producing intermittent rotary motion, characterized by alternate periods of motion and rest with no reversal in direction.
3. There were allocated roles within the group, strengths were found throughout students for different subjects of the task and therefore gave them that specific job.
4. As there is a lot of computer work in this topic, and it should first be computer graphically designed, we needed to know what CNC meant and the purpose of it is. Jake and Tom found out what this means: The abbreviation CNC stands for computer numerical control, and refers specifically to a computer that reads instructions and drives a machine tool, a powered mechanical device typically used to fabricate components by the selective removal of material. CNC does numerically directed interpolation of a cutting tool in the work envelope of a machine. The operating parameters of the CNC can be altered via a software load program.
5. We then looked over and reviewed the assignment brief so that we all understood the terms of the task in order to be able achieve the maximum marks possible so that we can all the highest grades that we able to achieve within this task
6. We then decided who was the best at each part of the work and split up the group into two groups of three one of the groups researching and making the design by using CNC and the other group researching Geneva mechanism.
7. We then realised the basis of engineering and understand the general terms of the engineering in the construction of the Geneva mechanism.
