The movie Romeo and Juliet (1996) is really amazing. It is a movie that can be compared to a modern movie even though it was shot in the mid 90’s. The movie has really portrayed what William Shakespeare, the author of the play Romeo and Juliet, has actually written. The director, Baz Lhurmann, made a very great masterpiece letting the actors and actresses fulfill their roles as if it was the original play the writer had made. They have chosen people who can perfectly act their roles like Leonardo de Caprio (Romeo Montague) together with Claire Danes (Juliet Capulet) who has both acquired angelic faces best suited for what Shakespeare had written.
It started with the chaos between the two families Montague and Capulet. The war between these families caused the whole city of Verona to be destroyed. The chief of police, Prince Escalus, warned the two opposing families that if they do not stop their chaotic deeds, there will be a consequence for both families, death. But it didn’t prevent the conflict between them. Everywhere they see each other (Montague Family and Capulet Family) they always fight. Until it came a time when the Capulet family arranged a party open for all, except the Montague family. Mercutio, Romeo’s bestfriend, made a way for them to attend the party without being noticed. Romeo whose love was declined by Rosaline was looking for someone to be with. Mercutio told him that they will look for another beautiful woman that can replace Rosaline. The day came when they have attended the party and Romeo saw Juliet. In just a second, they fell in love with each other. When the party has finished, Romeo decided to meet her at the Capulet’s balcony. They decided to marry the following day. It didn’t took a long time when the Capulet family knew Romeo’s relationship with Juliet. Tybalt Capulet, Juliet’s cousin, agreed to kill Romeo but Mercutio challenged
