First off, Capulet was abusive and controlling towards Romeo and Juliet. This feud majorly contributed to the death of both Romeo and Juliet because contacting each other took forever. The messages took forever to get across and was especially a problem towards the end of the book with Juliet’s fake death. Fate made it so that Romeo’s new town would be contained because of the plague that was going around and he got the wrong message. None of this would have happended if there wasn’t a feud in the first place. It all traces back to the beginnning of the book. Thier relationship had to be a secret in order to keep it lasting. Capulet is super strict towards Juliet’s love intrest but, his anger level went through the roof when Juliet said that she loved Romeo rather than Paris. Romeo and Juliet could have been punished or killed by Capulet for dating each other but, they did it because their love was super strong.
Ultimately Capulet shouldn’t have put so much pressure on Juliet’s marriage. This lead to Romeo and Juliet committing suicide. I believe that Capulet had terrible parenting skills because he was abusive and Lady Capulet didn’t do anything about it. Juliet was not ready for marriage and was clearly uncomfortable with marrying Paris. He didn’t give her the freedom of choice or let them date at all.
