Why Is Lord Capulet Responsible For Romeo And Juliet
lord capulet is the person responsible for romeo and juliet's deaths. One reason lord capulet is to blame is because he had a feud with lord montague “see, what a scourge is laid upon your hate”(5.3.291). The feud that lord capulet has with the montague is to blame because if there were no feud, Romeo and Juliet would not have had to go behind their parents backs and get married without permission.then lord capulet would not have tried to force Juliet to marry county paris. This brings me to my second point:Lord capulet forced juliet to marry paris when she really didn't want to; “I tell thee what. get thee to church o’ thursday or never after look me in the face again speak not reply not never answer me”(3.5.161-263).If lord capulet had

Romeo and Juliet are husband and wife. I married them in secret, and that same day was Tybalt killed and Romeo banished. Juliet pined for her bridegroom and not for Tybalt. You (Capulet) while trying to make her happier promised her to Paris and would have ordered her to marry him. Then she came to me asking that I devise a plan to prevent her second marriage, or she would have killed herself right there in my cell. So I gave her a sleeping potion, which was intended to make her appear dead. Meanwhile, I wrote a letter to Romeo telling him to come here to take Juliet from her borrowed grave when the potion wore off. But Friar John, who was sent to deliver the message, was detained and brought the letter back to me. So I came alone at the time when Juliet was to wake up to take her from the vault and hide her in my cell until I could send another message to Romeo. When I got here, just a few minutes before Juliet should awaken, I found both Paris and Romeo dead. Juliet woke up, and I tried to get her to leave. I heard some noise and was scared away, but Juliet would not come with me. It seems that she stabbed herself. This is the whole story, and Juliet's Nurse also knew of the marriage. If this is all my fault let me be sacrificed to the full extent of the…

Lord Capulet was responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death because he was being really harsh on Juliet's choice on her future.Juliet's father told juliet that if she didn't marry paris she was going to be in big trouble. He mistreated her and said “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch!I tell thee to a church Thursday or never after look me in the face” Had he not said that,it would've made Juliet not worry on what she will do and not ask Friar Lawrence for the sleeping potion and play dead.Lord Capulet also arranged the marriage between…

Not only the Nurse and Friar Lawrence was at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet but also Capulet. This is because of his actions towards Juliet and his character. His character changes from being a nice, polite and caring father whereas after the death of Tybalt, he becomes this angry typical type father. Not knowing how Juliet truly feels, he forces her to get married to Paris even though she didn’t want to. He made her feel pressurized and also made her feel scared of what was going to happen next. He made her feel trap like she doesn’t have a choice to weather to marry him or not. Therefore, he should also be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet.…

Many blame Romeo and Juliet for the choices that they make. However can you blame someone for trying to find a way out when forced into a corner? The choices and actions of other characters in Romeo and Juliet forced Romeo and Juliet into the positions they are in. Into positions where they feel there is nowhere to go but up to heaven in death. The two perpetrators most responsible for this are Friar Laurence and Lord Capulet. If they could not be so irresponsible and unreasonable in their choices and actions, Romeo and Juliet would still be alive and their relationship…

Lord Capulet was a part in this tragedy because he said he would disown Juliet if she didn't marry Juliet. This caused Juliet to go to the friar for help because she didn't want to marry Paris. Juliet went to the Friar for help she got the potion and drank it. When Capulet found out his daughter was dead he was heartbroken. He believed Romeo killed her. “Despised, distressed, hated, martyred, killed!” (SS 460). Lord Capulet says this after he finds his daughter dead after she wakes up from being ‘dead’.…

Viewers might also look at the play as in the Montague’s and Capulets could have caused their own kids death. The Capulets wanted Juliet to marry Paris which caused commotion because Juliet wanted to marry Romeo. The Capulets also threatened to never see her again if she didn’t marry Paris. This also pushed Juliet into drinking the potion so that she wouldn’t have to marry Paris so she could disguise her own death. This also could have been caused by Romeo and Juliet bringing it on themselves. They rushed into marriage and are from two family feuds. They should’ve both just ran away but instead they stayed in Verona and let Friar help them with their…

Not including Romeo or Juliet, the whole Montague and Capulet family is to blame. If Lord Capulet had not made Juliet marry Paris like it says here,”Marry, My child, early next Thursday morn/The gallant, young, and noble gentleman,/The County Paris…”(3.5.112-114), then she would not have bought the poison so she could fake her death and be with Romeo. If their families had not started the feud, then Romeo could have married Juliet without any affairs in the way and no one would have been killed. Mercutio would be alive because Tybalt would not have detested the Montagues. Tybalt would be alive because Romeo would not have been angry with him for killing his best friend, Mercutio. Paris would also be alive because he would not have fought with Romeo at the tomb of Juliet.…

Romeo was in love with a girl, Rosaline, but rosaline decided she wanted to become a nun, which means she could not get married. This set off Romeo and could not forget the face of Rosaline . The sparks went off in benvolio's head as a Capulet servant approached and requested Romeo to help him. As the servant left benvolio ”At this same ancient feast of Capulet’s Sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so loves With all the admired beauties of Verona. Go thither, and with unattainted eye Compare her face with some that I shall show, And I will make thee think thy swan a crow”(I.i.84-89). The consequence of this piece is not bad but good. This forces Romeo to forget about Rosaline and fall in love with a new girl, the daughter of his greatest enemy, Juliet. Lord Capulet made the biggest mistake of the all,”Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday, Or never after look me in the face. Speak not. Reply not. Do not answer me. My fingers itch.—Wife, we scarce thought us blest that God had lent us but this only child, But now I see this one is one too much And that we have a curse in having her. Out on her, hilding!”(III. v. 160-168). Lord Capulet should've thought about what he was saying. Juliet doesn't want to marry County Paris because she is already in love. This one thing set off a chain reaction, Juliet fakes her death, Romeo finds out she “died”, Romeo kills himself, Juliet wakes up, and then kills herself all because of lord Capulet arranging a marriage for Juliet and…

Although this could be proven , Romeo was the cause of this tragedy due to his irrational choices. Romeo was the one to blame for this catastrophic event. As a matter of fact, Romeo sneaked into the Capulet’s house without any consent of the Capulets. He was trying to forget the fact that he had just experienced the act of unrequited love, which is not pleasant at all. He was clearly being selfish and sneaked into the party.…
