Romeo And Juliet Blame
Who’s to Blame ? Love. Death. Many people don't usually put these two together. Not having the love of your life can be very difficult. To feel as if they have been taken away from you, never to return again. This is how Romeo felt, but could he be to blame? The death of Romeo and Juliet was something that was very tragic and could not have been expected to those who never heard of this play. Due to this impactful event many people have several different opinions on whose fault it was. Some people argue that Juliet was the reason this took place while others argue that it was Tybalt, the Friar, etc. Although this could be proven , Romeo was the cause of this tragedy due to his irrational choices.
Romeo was the one to blame for this catastrophic event. As a matter of fact, Romeo sneaked into the Capulet’s house without any consent of the Capulets. He was trying to forget the fact that he had just experienced the act of unrequited love, which is not pleasant at all. He was clearly being selfish and sneaked into the party. “ What, shall this speech be spoken for our excuse? Or shall we on without apology” (Shakespeare I.iv.1-2).Furthermore, this clearly states that Romeo was not invited to the party, meaning he

Arguing that she had some miscommunication with Romeo, leading to him not knowing what was going on. However Juliet did indeed want Romeo to know about what was going to happen and she did think about consulting Romeo about the situation. To add on,she left it up to the Friar to tell Romeo about this event.“ Shall Romeo by my letters know our drift and hither shall he come…” ( Shakespeare IV. i. 114-115). This could be put upon Juliet but at the end of the day why didn't Romeo know about this plan, because he was banished. Juliet was just doing what was best. It wasnt her fault that there was a plague. Not allowing the letter to reach Romeo. The person who made this all so complicated was in fact

Some characters who are more commonly blamed are Romeo and Juliet themselves. With their headstrong personalities, and love, which seemed so sure, they had in fact condemned themselves. Romeo was the first to promote the relationship at the Capulet's party. It was a case of 'love-at-first-sight' for him, so he felt obligated to seek Juliet at her balcony,…

Although he is not the only one to blame for this tragedy. Romeo could be blamed for the tragedy for a lot of reasons. One reason he is the one to blame is he drinks the potion almost rite as Juliet wakes up. Romeo could have went to Friar Lawrence and ask what happened before he took his own life when he could have lived a happy life with Juliet. Also Romeo Mary's Juliet rite after they meet each other pretty much. Romeo could have took it slower and get to know her better. If they would not have gotten married so fast they might still be alive. Romeo and Juliet didn't have to kill themselves. That was their choice which It is unreasonable to throw the blame on another person or an issue that made them commit suicide. If they had thought about their decisions thoroughly, they would end up living a happy life together. Also Romeo knew that she was from the family that he hates. It is kind of ironic how Romeo falls in love with people he can't marry because it just makes the feud between the family's worse. “In faith, I will. Let me peruse this face. Mercutio's kinsman, noble County Paris!...” (Shakespeare 85-92)This is the quote Romeo says before he dies. Romeo did not have to kill Paris he could have talked it out instead of immediately fighting which just made things worse in the end because that's one more death on there hands. That's why I think that the tragedy was not just Friar Lawrence's fault but both Romeo and Friar…

To explain this further, Romeo was banished due to killing Tybalt. Since Juliet did not want to marry Paris, she and Friar had the idea of getting a potion that would pretend to kill Juliet. “To rid her from this second marriage / or in my cell there she would kill herself” (5.3.241-242). In this quote, Friar explains that he felt he was bound to help her, or she would have ended her life anyway. In the letter to Romeo it indicates what the plan was for the two. The letter meant life-and-death for both Romeo and Juliet. However, Friar did not tell Friar John who was to deliver the letter to him, that it was urgent. The Black Death was a threat, so Friar John did not think it was that big of a deal if he did not get the letter. He explains to Friar Lawrence, “Suspecting that we both were in a house / where the infectious pestilence did reign” (5.2.9-10). If Friar Lawrence told him that the letter was urgent, then Romeo most likely would have gotten it, and Romeo and Juliet would have not died tragically. Friar Lawrence should have come up with a better plan to let Romeo know what was…

In the play “Romeo and Juliet” written by William Shakespeare I blame the reason for their tragedy on Friar Laurence. In the play the Friar married Romeo and Juliet to each other and didn’t inform the Capulet's nor the Montague's. The Friar also tried to help Juliet by giving her a sleeping potion so she wouldn’t have to marry Paris. He also failed to deliver the letter to Romeo saying that Romeo didn’t die, but she was in fact sleeping. “I could not send it here it is again nor get a messenger to bring it thee so fearful were they of infection” (Shakespeare 470). Lastly the Friar had blamed the two lover's death of Romeo and Juliet when both the Capulet's and Montague's had heard of there passings.…

Many of the misfortunes that occur during the play are blamed on fate, chance, coincidence, and luck. The lovers may not have met if it was not for coincidence. An illiterate servant stumbled upon Romeo asking him to read an invitation. "What names the writing person hath here writ. . .I must to the learned" (Iii 42-43). Luckily enough it happened to be an invitation to the Capulet ball. This brought forward the quick dismissal of Rosaline, Romeo's past love interest, and the introduction of Juliet, the "rich jewel" (Iv 45). Romeo's presence at the ball brought up conflict with Tybalt, who quickly recognised him as the enemy. His pride was wounded when his uncle told him that Romeo "shall be endur'd!" (Iv 76). This provoked a duel between the two. "I hate hell, all Montagues and thee" (Ii 65). It was only by chance Mercutio was killed under Romeo's arm. Tybalt had intended to kill Romeo. Romeo didn't want to fight Tybalt as they were now cousins. "(I) love thee better than thou canst devise" (IIIi 66). Mercutio blamed Romeo for coming between them. "Why the dev'l came you between us" (IIIi 98). However Romeo blamed fate for the incidents, declaring "I am fortune's fool" (IIIi 132). Fate was held responsible for both the love and deaths that occurred in Romeo and Juliet.…

Romeo And Juliet Essay In the story Romeo and Juliet there can be many people to blame such as Benvolio, Friar Laurence, Prince, Juliet, but I think the main person to blame would have to be Romeo. If Romeo was more mature and thought he would not have killed himself. The person to blame is Romeo because he let his emotions control his decisions which led to bad choices. Romeo wasn’t a bad person in the slightest, he was just very passionate about what he did and that made him vulnerable to stress.…

Juliet is also to blame because she know what to do and what she is told. Juliet wrote a quote because she's being impatient before she falls dead in the tomb. “Shall i not then be stifled in the vault, to whose foul mouth no health some air breathes in, and there die strangled enemy Romeo Doesn't” . Juliet is impatient and talks to herself in which she doesn't know what's going on and disobeys. As much as Romeo and Laurence causes problems, Juliet does more as being stubborn.…

Not including Romeo or Juliet, the whole Montague and Capulet family is to blame. If Lord Capulet had not made Juliet marry Paris like it says here,”Marry, My child, early next Thursday morn/The gallant, young, and noble gentleman,/The County Paris…”(3.5.112-114), then she would not have bought the poison so she could fake her death and be with Romeo. If their families had not started the feud, then Romeo could have married Juliet without any affairs in the way and no one would have been killed. Mercutio would be alive because Tybalt would not have detested the Montagues. Tybalt would be alive because Romeo would not have been angry with him for killing his best friend, Mercutio. Paris would also be alive because he would not have fought with Romeo at the tomb of Juliet.…

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” (from a headstone in Ireland). When people die their loved ones often face depression and mourn for a long time especially if that loved one is someone you raised and watched grow up over the years. Sometimes individuals like to blame people for their loved ones death when in actuality there could be just more than one person to blame or no one at all. The death of Romeo and Juliet in William Shakespeare’s play is very unfortunate. Although a lot of things could have been done to avoid their suicides, these “star-crossed lovers” are not able to avoid their future. A series of unfortunate circumstances result in catastrophe, and even though many people could be…
