In the play “Romeo and Juliet” written by William Shakespeare I blame the reason for their tragedy on Friar Laurence. In the play the Friar married Romeo and Juliet to each other and didn’t inform the Capulet's nor the Montague's. The Friar also tried to help Juliet by giving her a sleeping potion so she wouldn’t have to marry Paris. He also failed to deliver the letter to Romeo saying that Romeo didn’t die, but she was in fact sleeping. “I could not send it here it is again nor get a messenger to bring it thee so fearful were they of infection” (Shakespeare 470). Lastly the Friar had blamed the two lover's death of Romeo and Juliet when both the Capulet's and Montague's had heard of there passings.…

Romeo Montague is to receive the most blame in this story because of his irrational thinking and the way he never thought anything through. The Friar Lawrence was the next to be blamed because, first of all he married the two and then he didn’t get the information about Juliet not actually being dead. Finally Balthasar, Balthasar is to be blamed because he did not give the correct information to Romeo, and then did not try to stop him from getting the poison from the Apothecary. These three men are the most responsible because they, and all the men in this tragedy, were never able to clearly communicate with each other or anyone…

Not including Romeo or Juliet, the whole Montague and Capulet family is to blame. If Lord Capulet had not made Juliet marry Paris like it says here,”Marry, My child, early next Thursday morn/The gallant, young, and noble gentleman,/The County Paris…”(3.5.112-114), then she would not have bought the poison so she could fake her death and be with Romeo. If their families had not started the feud, then Romeo could have married Juliet without any affairs in the way and no one would have been killed. Mercutio would be alive because Tybalt would not have detested the Montagues. Tybalt would be alive because Romeo would not have been angry with him for killing his best friend, Mercutio. Paris would also be alive because he would not have fought with Romeo at the tomb of Juliet.…

They might think that the lovers took their own lives because something as harsh as fate left them no choice, but they are wrong.
