A CAUSAL COMPARATIVE STUDY “A Social Impact Assesment of The Floodwater Spreading Project on the Gareh-Bygone Plain in Iran : A Causal Comparative Approach”
1. Research problems :
Iran is located in semi-arid region with a high number population growth. That is one of the reasons why the water in this area become rare. Commonly sub- Sahara Africa and South Asia have low argicultural potential. Based on the condition emerging global evidence suggest to develop Floodwater Spreading Project in Gareh-Bygon plain, Iran.
2. Research purpose :
The purpose of this study was to examine the social impacts of Floodwater Spreading Project in Gareh-Bygon plain, Iran.
3. Research Methodology :
3.1 Design
This research using causal comparative design for exploring causal relationships between variables that cannot be manipulated experimentally.
3.2 Population and sample
A stratified random sampling approach was used to select the sample of households for the survey. The researcher divides become 2 variable. The villages with FWSP and the villages without FWSP. The villages with FWSP have population: 395 household, population with more two members over 35 years: 208 household, and No. of sample household: 138 household. The villages without FWSP have population: 194 household, population with more two members over 35 years: 102 household, and No. of sample household: 70 household. And, finally the researcher include final sample became: village with the project: 138 household (one man and one woman in each household) and village without the project: 70 household (one man and one woman in each household)
3.3 Data collection technique
The technique that use for collection the data was a triangulation technique. There was three main data methods which included. There are; surveys, archival data, and
