First Responders encounter difficult issues on a daily base. Many of these difficulties are followed by stress at work and/or home. Most of these stress cause family members to separate temporary leading into divorce. Stress impact families in many ways, causing emotional problems and no productive time with family members. The work of first responder can affect family member. The purpose of this paper is to identify the impact first responder job stress have on the family. Keywords: family, stress, first responders
First responders are expected to carry out their duties with high expectance. The special training first responders enter into without hesitation can become stressful. First responders go thru emotional problems that are unbearable for them and their family members. First responders are the eyes and ears whenever traumatic events happens. The pressure, workload and high demands from them can effect there social lives, family and job negatively. First responders walk into unsafe situations without thinking mindful thought of their family members. Their performance on duty can become stressful, in many ways, which can affect physically, emotionally and placing them in an uncontrollable mental setting. Taking stress off duty at home can impact family member negatively. First responders have many benefits available, one the program which is utilize is CISM. The Critical Incident Stress Management program (CISM) was created mainly for first responders. This program allow responders to recognize sign and symptoms if the incident should happen again in the future. Research states:
