The Jersey Devil, also known as Leeds Devil is a creature that is described as a kangaroo like creature with the head of a goat, rough bat wings, horns, small arms with sharp clawed hands, divided hooves and a split, v- shaped tail. The Jersey Devil, was born in Philadelphia Bulletin, United States, in the region of Pine Barrens, New Jersey on January 1909. The surprise of The Jersey Devil’s mother being pregnant with him, and him being the thirteenth child was a even a bigger surprise to her. She did not want to have another child, she did not want to have thirteen children. Twelve was enough for her and adding one more child to that count drove her crazy. She did not want anything to do with it. His mother did not care for him as she cared for her other twelve children she had.…

Determining whether Mr. Fullman has an actionable claim under the Alien Tort Statute (“ATS”) and whether the Fourteenth Circuit has jurisdiction over this matter can be determined by the same answer. If Lansdale can be held liable under the ATS, the Fourteenth Circuit has jurisdiction. If suit is barred against Lansdale, due to his status as a corporation, the Fourteenth Circuit lacks subject-matter jurisdiction and, thus, the case must be dismissed.…

For most commuters, driving had become a daily occurrence. According to the American Safety Council, approximately fifty-six percent of men and forty four percent of women report of having road rage on a daily basis (Safemotorist.com). Road Rage is defined as anger and aggressive behavior by a driver who is upset by how another person is driving (Merriam-Webster). Most of the time, it is easy to spot out these aggressive drivers by their driving characteristics, but when it comes to the road, these angry drivers can become hard to avoid. But having the ability to notice the three characteristics of road rage can help, they are anger, anxiety, and impulse (Gaille, 2014).…
The history associated with drug criminalization in America contains more political motivators than concerns for public health and safety. The biggest politically motivated aspect to drug deterrence comes from Richard Nixon’s s war on drugs in 1971 which has created a system that discriminates against minority groups and has had little effect on deterring drug use. The war on drugs has thus far been notoriously noted for discriminating against people of color by pumping drugs into their communities and then imposing severe criminal consequences for drug possession, use, or distribution. In fact, one of Nixon’s aides John Ehrlichmen stated that the war on drugs was intended for the following:…
According to Claire Ricke, a recent survey found that drivers committed more than 78,000 illegal passing violations in a single day. This evidence show just how dangerous a normal day is and how much danger you could be in just by getting on a bus. It’s scary to know that you're not always safe, even when doing something as simple as getting on a bus, but this can all be avoided if people would stop being in such a hurry and slow down to think about the consequences of their actions. Most people would say that it's almost impossible to stop because when you're in a hurry you don't think as clearly and you aren't as observant, but that’s not the case. It is possible to think and slow down when you're in a hurry, and I know because I've done this myself. It was a test day and I had already woken up late with very little time to spare. I was disorganized, in a hurry, and I was barley making it. Everything was so rushed that I wasn't thinking clearly until my sister told me to calm down and get every thing I needed then to meet her in the car. I managed to calm down, and I got every thing I needed and met my sister in the car. I’ve been in a hurry many times, but I still find time to think and get every thing done. Being late to work or an interview is not worth another person's life, so slow down and think before you…
Speeding is a factor in 31 percent of all fatal crashes, killing an average of 1,000 Americans every month, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which estimates the cost to society of speed-related crashes to be more than $40 billion each year. Speeding is a problem not only on freeways, but also on local streets. Many commuters opt to take surface streets, thinking they can more efficiently…
When you speed, you have less time to react to unexpected situations. Other drivers have less time to react to your situation. With that being said, you can easily harm someone or yourself if not kill them by not watching your surroundings. Because like stated before, you not only have little time to react at the normal speed of traffic; but now you are speeding which takes away from the normal time, in return gives you minimal to NO time to react at all.…
Everyone will eventually cross paths with a reckless driver. Dangerous driving habits can be seen on highways, on residential streets, and in parking lots. You do not have to travel far to see people driving with risky driving techniques. Many of us survive these situations, but some do not. Dangerous drivers kill people and destroy property everyday. Younger drivers can be dangerous drivers simply because they lack experience driving in various environments, such as driving at night, or driving on interstate highways. But there are drivers from all age groups that have dangerous driving habits. Even older drivers are sometimes dangerous because their senses and reflexes are not as good as they were.…
I realize that a majority of drivers on the road have some sort of a problem with delivery drivers whether they were speeding, cut you off, or just in your way. So whenever I have a Dominos car top on, I always make sure to stay at a reasonable speed. There was this one time I was on a delivery, and I was in the left lane coming up to a merge. I observed a car zipping up through my side mirror and as violently as he could, he cut me off. Obviously this would make anyone angry if they had never even seen the car before in their life, but I continued on my way. When we got to the next light he rolled down his window and said, “You’re going to lose your job!!”. Naturally I responded with, “Why, was I going to slow for you?”. I had that response because I wasn’t in a rush but he clearly was, due to the fact that he gave me the one finger solute and then screeched his tires pulling away. Road rage is a big issue and could cause injury or death, so it’s in everyone’s best interest to take things that happen on the road with a grain of salt.…
Many of today’s drivers have dangerous habits ranging from reckless driving to falling asleep behind the wheel. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 32,675 motor vehicle traffic deaths were reported in 2014. In 2015, the toll raised 7.7 percent, estimating 35,200 deaths. That is averaging to be around 96 deaths a day. To improve our driving, it is essential to acknowledge dangerous driving habits including: road rage, traffic violation, and simple distractions.…
Anyone that drives has experienced road rage, whether they have the road rage or are being pursued by someone with road rage. However, most teens practice the bad habit of road rage, mainly because they want to be the best or faster driver. For example, if I am driving home from school and someone passes me even though I am going over the speed limit, I have to pass them, I have to be in the front of the pack of cars. This does not seem like road rage, but it is, I get upset if someone passes me. Also, if I am heading down North A1A, whether I am going the speed limit or not, and someone decides to cut in front of me when I am less than a hundred yards from them I do not instantly slam on my brakes. I will usually keep going my speed and tailgate that person until they decide to speed up or pull off the road and let me by, if they do neither of the two, I will often pass them. One thing that is bad to mix with road rage is poor safety.…
