You can never predict the behavior of an exotic animal. They can lash out at any moment for any reason. You may never know what triggered the exotic animal to lash out. Exotic animals are treacherous and not safe to be around. Therefore, exotic animals should not be kept as a pet because of how unsafe and dangerous they are. It only takes a second for an exotic animal to react in an abusive manner. If the exotic pet attacks you, they will most likely end up killing you. These exotic animals who have people blinded by their beauty can cause a tremendous destruction in a blink of an eye. Eric the author from ¨This is why you shouldn’t own Exotic Pets- Avvo Stories¨ states various emotional appealing stories about people who have been brutally attacked by an exptic pet. “Travis the chimp was an exotic pet that had been featured in TV commercials… the chimp brutally attacked Charla Nash, literally ripping her face off”(Eric). Many of the individuals who own exotic pets beleive they are doing the right thing. Corinne Henn the author of “ 3 Ridiculous Reasons People Give for Keeping Exotic Animals as Pets” states three common reasons why people feel the need to own exotic pets. Many people believe they are benefiting wild populations (Henn). People think that they are helping the animals so that they will not become extinct but if most of the exotic animals are caged up then they cannot breed and reproduce more of their kind. If they cannot reproduce more of their own kind then the exotic animals will slowly become extinct. Another reason why people keep exotic animals as pets is because it is a learning experience (Henn). People say they like to see the journey of the exotic animals and they like to observe the behavior of the animals. It is not fair that an exotic animal has to deal with oppression because they are caged up their whole life, just to be part of a learning experience. People are just being selfish and not thinking about how exotic animals need to be living in the wild not in a small living room like cage. If these people want a challenge then they can just buy a farm and own many farm animals. They can own horses, cows, chickens, pigs, etc. That can be a good learning experience. They do not necessarily need to caged up exotic animals to have a learning experience. Another common reason why

Wildlife animals such as tigers, chimpanzees, and bears are all animals that are very difficult to be tamed. These animals have not evolved how most dogs have and its much more complicated to train one of these exotic animals rather than a new puppy. In the article “Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger?” Mia Lewis states that domestication is not something that happens in one or two generations: it takes hundreds or thousands of years. That for say, we would not see these animals changing their way of being anytime soon.…

People have said, “The only creature to love someone more than it loves itself, is a dog.” The love doesn’t stop there; cats, hamsters, rabbits, and many other animals have unconditional love towards you. From 1970 to 2010, the number of cats and dogs in households has risen from 67 million to an estimated 164 million. You can count on them to be there for you, day and night. Though many people keep them only for their companionship, few people see what other benefits they can offer you.…
