I am Malala is an Autobiography by Malala Yousafzai. In 1979 when the Taliban invaded the Swat Valley in Pakistan, Malala refused to be quiet and defended the right for her to have an education. But on October 9th 2012, when she was fifteen, she almost paid the ultimate price. On her way home from school on the bus she was shot, in her head. Days after the attack, she was unconscious and in critical condition.The impact of the shot lead her to move from the Pakistan to the England hospital. Only a few people expected her to survive. Instead Malala unimaginably recovered. On October 12, 2012 a group of 50 Islamic priest in Pakistan expressed a fatwa against the group that tried to kill her, but the Taliban expressed its intent to kill Malala and her father. The death attempts shocked the national and world flood support for Malala. She later on won Pakistan's first National Youth Peace Prize and the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize. On July 12th, 2013, Malala spoke at the UN and called for worldwide access to education, and on September of 2013 she opened the Library of Birmingham.
