Some people in the world hate rain and find everything of it useless, Others find it a resource of living. Mawsynram is located in India right next to Bangladesh. The location of Mawsynram is the place of the most rain in the world. It has a population of 1337 and with families of 4-5 which makes it around 280 families. Mawsynram natives found several ways of bypassing the rain with materials and trying to use the rain in good use.

People in this world are suffering from natural disasters. My essay is focusing on the wettest place in the world that is named Mawsynram which is located in India. The world's populations

Mawsynram is located in India with being known of the wettest place in the world with a peak of 12m of rain a year. Mawsynram is in the south of Asia and south west of India. Its neighbour is Bangladesh which is where they get the rain from. Bangladesh has a lot of floodplains and it is very hot.
For my house roof the first layer on the frame would be 15mm of triplex nailed on to the frame of the house. The design will have corrugated galvanised iron on the frame. If the water went through the corrugated galvanised iron, it is able to slide the water down outside. There will be big pipes on the end bottom of the roof bringing the water beside the house and using it to take showers and etc. As the floor of the attic, I will put a 3 layered floor with waterproof paint and fabric to make sure no water passes through down to the house. Inside the roof is a vert import party of this house. There will be a mini-roof with a frame of a line. Meaning this will be the top of the house, it will look like a semi circle. In this semicircle the design will have a base out of triplex then put waterproof fabric. I will be putting big pipe to slide the water outside into a tank. Mawsynram has a lot of floods because of the meters of rain coming in each year. These floods can cause damages to houses. This house that I designed will be very hard to be flooded. This house design will be raised on 8 pillars that are 3 meters high. , 4

People that would like to live in a wet place should really keep in mind on what he is going up against. People that will build their houses in wet places, such as Mawsynram need to be very cautious. There are hundreds of sites on the internet that tells you how to make a good house made for humid/wet places. This house design was a mix between all of them and some of my own thoughts.
After some floods, the wood will be very soggy and weak which makes it not strong enough to hold the house. With this design there will be cement under and around the pillars (lower level of the pillars) and also for support and so the wood does not become soggy and weak.
Since Mawsynram is a very humid location in India because of the rain, There is no need for a Air conditioner or fans. This design will work to make the roof really thin because the people living in the house would like the attic of the house to be warm to heat up the inside of the

In the absence of electrical power and technologies, a great importance was given to environmental comfort. The interaction of different materials in different building elements was determined by the physical properties of these particular materials. With reference to the below sketch, one can see how the heavy external walls were constructed in an inner and outer layer of stone blocks; insulated with a core of peat and earth and waterproofed with clay. Turf was also used to absorb any excess retained moisture. The roof was based on a structural frame built using driftwood or whale bone, clad with timber coursing. Over the wood, layers of peat, grass and straw thatch were used for thermal insulation and waterproofing. The roofing materials were secured with a rope netting and weighted downwards using stone anchors.…

Light wooden framed buildings were originally discovered when light partition walls were capable of forming a construction system by themselves. The system consists of timber studs frames assembled on site and tilted vertically or horizontally depending and what is needed. The idea was improved and accelerated with the availability of cheap mass produced nails and properly planed and cut pieces of wood. The first step to building a light timber platform building is to lay foundation walls to support the house. On top of the foundation walls would be placed a sill plate and in-between them would be a layer of foam to make an air tight seal. The sill play is held to the concrete foundation using anchor bolts. Anchor bolts are designed to hook into the concrete. On top of the…

Frank Lloyd Wright was a famous influential architect who designed many unique buildings all over the world. Each building was created differently because he believed that "there should be as many kinds of houses as there are kinds of people and as many differentiations as there are different individuals". He also believed that each building he created should be integrated with it's surroundings and in harmony with nature. The Milwaukee Art Museum has showcased his work there and gave it the title "Organic Architecture for the 20th Century." This exhibition presents and reveal Wright's vision for better living. While at the museum, I came across-ed a drawing of a house named "Falling water." The design of this house was very appealing…
