I felt as if I was incomplete without one, I had even written persuasive essays in school on why I should get a dog and waited and just hoped for it. Finally, when I was in 5th grade, I found a church ministry where we met once month and came up with ideas to raise money for the local rescue. During the meetings, we would also go for a walk, those who had animals would walk them. In the summer of 2010, I started volunteering at the Cumberland County S.P.C.A. One day around the end of July, I was wandering around the building looking at all the different animals. I am usually more drawn to the dogs since I myself have two, however, I always breeze through the cat section. While I was looking at all the different cats, one caught my eye immediately. Unlike the other cats, it broke my heart to see her in that cage. I instantly fell in love with her. A few days later, I ended up adopting her and adding her to our family.…
