Is Olivia (baby in sweater) securely or insecurely attached? Why? How is your conclusion based on the behaviors she exhibited during separation and reunion?
I believe Olivia is securely attached because when her mother leaves her sight she started to become distressed but with the return of her mother she was happy to be reunited with her. I do not think they should worry about forming secure attachments with the children in their care because they are often the ones that spend the most time with them during the work week. Infant-toddler teachers learn and grow to figure out what the child likes best and with the constant caring of the child it is an important factor in helping the children adjust to the separating from the parents.
