During Rabbi Amy Eilberg’s talking workshop, we explored experiences of estrangement, conflict, and enmity in our own interpersonal relationships, workplaces, communities. The thing I found the most interesting to me was the quality of being a peace seeker. Knowing that she helps synagogues and Jewish organizations place the pursuit of peace in interpersonal relationships at the center of their communal mission, she is the ultimate peace seeker.…

Although most will probably say someone close to them is inspiring, like their mother, grandmother, sister. In my opinion, they are your family, and you will always love and be inspired by them. Therefore I decided to write this on how a singer is inspiring to me. Her name is Miranda Lambert. Almost none of my friends have even heard of her. I guess because maybe she’s a country singer and they don’t really like country music? Who knows, but she is quite an amazing person. She grew up in a small town in Texas. “Not having money toughened me up a bit, but I'll always be grateful. Texas people are really strong in their roots. I started writing and playing guitar at 17. I've always loved music, and my dad is a singer-songwriter.” Miranda once…

It was presented in a worldwide set of conferences referred to as TED (Technology, Environment, and Design) conference. I sing her praises for avoiding magic and seeking a deeper explanation for the things that she would have us experience. There are underlying themes throughout her stories of understanding and appreciating the world around us, and of championing social justice. The way things work in her writing shows a picture of understanding the life force of the world, which brings about a greater understanding of people and their need for healing. I also applaud her use of a narrative that alternates between viewpoints, but only because she does it so well. I love seeing things from different perspectives, and this was achieved flawlessly throughout both…

I was captivated and drawn in by Jill Bolte Taylor’s speech within seconds of her message. She effectively grabbed my attention through her narration, her personal story, and thought-provoking questions, that she was asking for herself. Within seconds, she pulled me in by relating the speech towards herself, to her career, her brother’s mental illness, she was planting a seed of curiosity to the audience. For Example: “I wanted to understand why is it that I can take my dreams, I can connect them to my reality, and I can make my dreams come true. What is it about my brother’s brain and his schizophrenia that he connects his dreams to a common and shared reality so they instead become delusions” I was then asking the question why is it?…

The first one she played was clips of her in all different parts of the world educating younger children on conservation mechanisms and endangered animals like the chimpanzees. It was really interesting to see her doing that in such different parts of the world. The other video that she ended the lecture with was very touching. It started by showing a very skinny chimpanzee that had almost died and then showed it being released into the wild. But before running off the chimpanzee jumped onto the cage and hugged Jane. It was so endearing and loving, I was teary-eyed watching…

She does not just say something and then leave it undefended. For example, when she was discussing the incidents that have happened as a result of security questions, she does a good job of giving examples of both famous people and celebrities that have been targeted and normal, average people's accounts. This helps the reader realize that security questions are an issue, and they should be fixed. Having facts and examples to back her arguments helped get her point across.…

This shows her excellent work ethic and is particularly inspirational to me because through her hard work, Lilly has become one of the highest earning YouTube stars. This teaches me that if I work hard I can reap the benefits. Lilly also used her impressive work ethic to overcome her struggle with depression. Though Lilly initially wanted a YouTube channel as a means of expression to help her beat depression, she gained further inspiration once she realized that she could fill the void of representation of South Asian girls on the internet.…

I remember one of her speeches at a veterans assemble and it will always stick with me. She was very good at making her point and demonstrating who veterans were and why we should support them. She wasn’t overly excited or too sad. She once again stayed focus and looked straight at the audience. She never once looked down at the podium to look at notes. She knew what she wanted to say and everyone, including the veterans was very grateful for her speech. She should be an example of someone who knew exactly how to speak to groups or just one person for that matter. She was definitely a positive speaker whose speeches were amazing.…
