Richard Ramirez Research Paper
Richard Ramirez: The Night Stalker Richard Ramirez was born in El Paso Texas on February 28, 1960. He was introduced to satanic worship and drugs at an early age. After moving to Southern California he supported himself by breaking in to homes. Soon after the robbing of homes he began to kill and sometimes even rape many of people. Over the course of his rigorous murders and long trial he was sentenced to life in prison. Ramirez was the youngest of six children born to Julian and Mercedes Ramirez (“Richard Ramirez Biography”). He was born epileptic and he was described by his father as being a “good boy”; that was until he became involved with drugs. This all began when Ramirez’s cousin Mike came home from the Vietnam War. When Mike returned …show more content…
This trial brought back memories of the Charlie Manson trial with women hanging around in black robes. One of the jurors failed to show up one day and was discovered dead in her apartment. Many though it was Ramirez’ followers, but actuality it was the women’s husband who shot her (Robert).
While Ramirez was on trial he tied the knot with one of his groupies. Forty-one year-old Doreen Lioy described herself as a virgin prior to her marriage to Ramirez. She believes that Ramirez is innocent of all the charges brought against him. She also respects his satanic worship. She even gave him a sliver wedding band since satanic worshipers do not wear gold. (Montaldo, the End of the Night Stalker- Richard Ramirez).
On September 20, 1989, Richard Ramirez was found guilty on 43 counts in Los Angeles County. This includes 14 murders, and charges including burglary, sodomy, and rape. Besides 14 Counts of murder and 5 attempted murders, the prosecution filed 19 counts of burglary, 6 of robbery, 7 of rape, 5 of forcible oral copulation, 7 of sodomy, 3 of committing lewd acts on children and 2 kidnappings.”( “68 Crimes, including 14 murders are charged to man in California.”). He was sentenced to death on each count of murder. After receiving his sentence, all Ramirez would say was, “Big deal”, “Death always went with the territory” and “I’ll see you in Disneyland.” (Montaldo, the End of the Night Stalker- Richard

Saint José Ramón Agustín Pro Juárez, also known as Saint Miguel Pro, was born on January 13, 1891, in Guadalupe, Mexico. He was one of eleven children, the oldest boy. Sadly, four of his siblings died as babies or young children. From an early age, he was heartily spiritual, as well as mischievous; he constantly entertained his family with his humor and practical jokes. St. Miguel was a dauntless child and sometimes took his pranks and fun too far, putting him in several near-death mishaps. The third oldest in his family, St. Miguel was unquestionably very close with his older sister. After she entered a convent at age 20, he started to recognize his own calling to the priesthood. Though his father wanted him to continue with the family business, Miguel lived for God and entered the Jesuit novitiate in El Llano, Michoacán in 1911. He had been studying with the Jesuit priests for only a year when a religious revolution broke out in Mexico and by 1914, the Jesuits were forced to flee the country.…

After a short mail-request marriage to a Filipino lady who dumped him in 1986 for beating and assaulting her, he at long last went full Gary Heidnik. Snatching Josefina Rivera and imprisoning her in the cellar of his house. After being tourted an sexually assaulted and beaten he snatched five more women over various periods. Each at one time was shackled to pipes and were subjects to his vicious and sexual preferences. One lady, Sandra Lindsay died of maltreatment leading to his closest catch with the law; the stench of burning bits of her eviscerated cadaver in his stove pulled in suspicion of neighbors. Heidnik coolly shooed away the reacting cops with a story about burning his weekly roast. All the women were “subjected to beatings, torture and were raped on a daily basis.” (B, 2006, para 8). This became a normal routine for Heidnik. To the remaining and continuing incoming women he would use shock therapy on the women and would shove screwdrivers into their ears. Rivera said “Heidnik told her, came from watching the cult movie, “Eating Raoul.”” (B, 2006, para. 3). Debbie Dudley, who was 23, had also been found and had died in the chamber of…

He was also influenced at a very young age by an older cousin who was a soldier in Vietnam; he showed Richard pictures of innocent women he had tortured and raped in Vietnam. It was stated that during the time of adolescence that is when crucial things are being molded in us and Richard incorporated sex and violence together and that most likely played a large role in his sexual issues toward his victims. Richard also witnessed his cousin Mike murder his wife by gun shot. Sex and violence are two things in life are not to be put together and in Ramirez’s world they were. Richard also had some dependency issues; he was an alcoholic and was also addicted to cocaine. He was rarely in a right, sound mind and this combination along with his psychological issues, and sexual issues was a recipe for disaster. Richard also believed that he was as evil as the devil. He often would leave the sign of the devil somewhere by his victims; or would have the sign marked on his own body; and also performed satanic rituals on his victims. Richard also had a criminal record leading up to his murder spree he was arrested for…
