Rachel immediately experiences and acknowledges these “odd” behaviors of Beth, such as; her daily bus routes routines, her choice in food (chocolate pudding and Coke), and her choice of bright colored and mismatched clothing (t-shirts with cartoons) (Simmon and Eliason, 2005).
What is the issue shown in the media piece? With Beth’s intellectual developmental disability, there were several different issues that the media film portrayed through her daily life activities — especially among riding the bus with Rachel. Though the major issue that I found to be present in this media piece was through Rachel and the lack of relationship between her and Beth and her lack of desire to be a part of her life. The issue that I found, especially towards the beginning of the movie was the impression that Rachel may have considered Beth to be a nuisance to her and her busy lifestyle of being wrapped up in her job. Before giving Beth’s lifestyle a chance (of riding the buses), I do not believe that Rachel was able to understand what all Beth was actually capable of accomplishing amongst her life (Simmon and Eliason,
