One of the biggest examples would be when Riley runs away, when she runs away, she also decides to come home eventually. In Riley’s mind her parents will be mad at her and she will get in loads of trouble, but in reality Riley’s parents are very understanding and she is rewarded with love and attention from both of her parents. This behavior was healthy because Riley presents the fact that she was able to come home and was ready to face her consequence. If Riley were to run away and not look back then thing might look very different for her in a bad way, she might not have even made it back to Minnesota. Riley shows cognitive behavior through this example.
In conclusion, Riley’s experiences such as running away, facetiming her friend, and missing a goal in hockey very strongly affected her beliefs and thoughts.
