The road crew, also known as a roadie, is in charge of helping the band tour by setting up equipment and taking it down. A roadie travels with a band on a tour bus to each location to supply help for the band and tour crew. Roadies are responsible for making sure the equipment needed for each performance or event moves safely from one venue to the next. . As part of the team, roadies must work well with a group, sometimes for weeks enduring long days and cramped living conditions. Strength and stamina play a large role in a roadie's job. All roadies need a current driver’s license and a safe driving record. Roadies make somewhere around $53,000 yearly in the U.S.

A common struggle that almost all glass-wearers go through is the slipping of the glasses down the nose. Many describe it as a pain and a bother to feel the glasses slip and slide or fall of your face and at worse moments. A product that would keep the glasses fit and comfortable without bending the frames or using pads would be great. On recognition of this need Don Hejny from Nashville came up with a beeswax blend of all certified organic and natural ingredients specially formulated to keep your glasses firmly on the nose. It is a simple product to use. Simply wipe the frames of your glasses and twist out a bit of the Nerdwax and apply on the edges of your glasses. It works by creating a layer of friction between the…

Howard Fast, the author of the book Freedom Road, was born on November 11, 1914 and died at the age of 89 on March 12, 2003. Fast lived a long and adventurous life. A few of the things he did throughout his lifetime were; joining the American Communist party in 1943, serving a prison term in 1950 for refusing to cooperate with the House Committee on Un-American Activities, and his books were purged from American school libraries. On the other hand some of the positive things that happened in his life was that in 1953, he was rewarded the Stalin Peace Prize and in June of 1937 he married his first wife, Bette Cohen. In adjunction with his adventurous lifestyle, Fast spent most of his time writing. He wrote seven works of nonfiction, two autobiographies, fifty-two novels, five short stories one essay, and seven Masao Masuto Mysteries under the Penn name E.V. Cunningham. As well as writing, he created two films based off novels. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Fast)…

Rednecks are often misunderstood. When a typical person thinks of the word “redneck,” most of them often associate this type of person as loud, hot-headed, violent, undereducated, racist and poor. People also associate rednecks with outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping and riding atv’s or dirt bikes. (Flora 1) Rednecks, most of the time, are associated with the confederate flag as well. They are also perceived to be rude. A term often used to define rednecks is “white trash,” meaning “poor white people, especially those living in the southern US (White 1).” What people don’t realize is that rednecks are also associated with intelligence and respect. They are loving, caring and are proud to be themselves. Rednecks all share the same love for cowboy boots, old jeans, pickup trucks, mud and learning lessons from their parents. This does not make rednecks “white trash.” This makes them general people, which is often overlooked.…

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that causes the insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas to be destroyed, preventing the body from being able to produce enough insulin to adequately regulate blood glucose levels. Type 1 diabetes may sometimes be referred to as juvenile diabetes, because it is commonly diagnosed in children and the condition can develop at any age. Insulin dependent diabetes is another term used to describe type 1 diabetes. Since type 1 diabetes causes the loss of insulin production, it therefore requires regular insulin administration.…

The Road, by Cormac McCarthy, depicts a post-apocalyptic world filled with cannibalism, death, and a longing for survival. Among other things, race and religion no longer distinguish society into defined groups. The human beings are either considered good guys, or bad guys through the eyes of the father and his son. Surviving in this world, when knowing what life was like before, creates newly discovered hardships and an inevitable feeling that life is meaningless. This novel follows the boy and his father as they continue on their journey of survival, due to their view that their lives still hold value. In a world as disastrous and broken as this one, life maintains meaning through connections, love and hope.…
