When both of their mothers come to visit, Twyla’s mother tries to shake Roberta’s mother’s hand. Roberta’s mother just looks down on both of them, grabs Roberta and walks away (Morrison 5). Roberta’s mother may have realized that Twyla’s mother is a dancer and thinks lowly of her. Roberta’s mother may have noticed Twyla’s mother’s apparel. Twyla’s mother is wearing her green slacks which are extremely inappropriate for church. Twyla’s mother also has a rambunctious attitude which also gives away that she is a stripper that Roberta’s mother notices. She knows that she is of a higher class than Twyla’s…

Mama then suggested to Walter, he should talk to Ruth again. He automatically gets defensive, “WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE LISTEN TO ME TODAY!” (39). Not only did Roger try to hurt Henry but he was the main cause in Simon’s death by acting like a pig and charging people making them get all excited and start to chant and rally (Golding 151). This caused the villagers to show aggression towards the so called beasts so when Simon flew into the beach the hunters and himself thought Simon was the beasts and they killed him. And this is related to devilish characteristics because Roger participated in killing Simon. Another example of Roger showing devilish actions is when the kids first killed their pig the way that he was aggressive in killing the pig showing true evil in how happy he was to kill the pig (Golding 135). But the main reason that shows that Roger is evil is that he's mean to everyone that he doesn't respect especially Piggy showing that he is verbally cruel and hateful towards them which is another reason why he is associated with the devil. The last example that proved to me that Roger portrayed actions of the devil is when him and jack stole the fire from Ralph which stealing is a sin and the devil is full of them and doesn't obey by gods morals but not only is stealing a sin but talking another persons life which Roger did by participated in killing Simon which is the worst sin of them all and it shows that he is the…

The character Roger, from the beginning of Lord of the Flies, was described as a weird character. He is a secretive boy that likes to hide behind people and observe other’s actions, he is also one of the hunters that guards the castle rock fortress. Roger is equally cruel as Jack, they think the same and Roger is always on Jack’s side. Even before he became savage, Roger was a dictator and extremely rude, kicking down sand castles and throwing sand at others. He also has many faults that one would dislike him for. One of the being that he is a very destructive boy, such as when he suggested to make a bow and spin an arrow to make a fire, a regular ten-year-old wouldn't know how to do that. Roger acts this way because he has secrets that if he tells anyone he might get in huge trouble for. There’s nothing really to like about him, he’d…

Roger is one of the predominant trouble-makers in Lord of the Flies. He is amoral and enjoys watching other people suffer as he causes havoc on the island. Roger doesn’t see how he is hurting the other boys on the island because he only cares about himself and his enjoyment. Like Roger, the husband in Birthday Party doesn’t see how he is hurting others. He uses words and actions to upset his wife and make her feel small. He is so concerned about himself and being embarrassed that he doesn’t care that he lashes out at his wife in front of the whole restaurant. Not only is he hurting his wife, he is damaging their relationship further and is probably hurting others in the restaurant as they have to watch someone be treated so poorly while they try to have a nice time. Furthermore, neither of the two really seem worried about their own wellbeing and it is ironic that they think they are helping themselves, when in fact they are making their own lives harder. Roger thinks that bullying the other boys will keep him occupied and pass time, when really all he is doing is creating setbacks in the attempts to be rescued. The more trouble he causes the longer everyone is going to be on the island, including him. The husband tries to reduce his embarrassment by being stern with his wife, but in reality he only makes a bigger scene and embarrasses himself further. Both of these characters are…

As parents we are considered as the first teachers of our children, we teach our children the learning that we have learned while growing up. Our children and so as we as parents are not perfect, as we do good thing we also commit mistakes and so as our children. It is important that we let them know if what they are doing is right or wrong, because as parents we have this responsibility to our children to guide them become a better person. They look up to us as their role model, and most of them want to follow our foot step. If we will only focus on praising their good deeds or actions, how would they know that not doing bad is as important as doing good. For example, if you caught your child stealing money and you ignore this without even letting him/her know that it is wrong to steal he/she will not know it and he will grow up believing and knowing that stealing is okay and right to do but if the time you caught him stealing and you let him know that it is not good or correct to steal, he will grow up knowing that it is not right thing to do, the act of stealing will not be repeated.…
