“Friends gotta trust each other, cause ain't nothin like a true friend.” Stacey was not afraid to tell the truth but made sure the other person didn't get mad at him so he took the consequences because he was faithful to others. This is evident in the middle of the book when T.J. cheated on the test and Stacey stood up for what was right. This is evident closer to the end of the book when T.J. fooled Stacey and took his jacket. Staceys not the real bright one but, he cares more about his family and friends more than he does himself, so he gave the jacket to T.J. because he thought he really did look bad in it. T.J. said, “It makes you look like a preacher.” “The coat was too big for me and...and T.J. said it made me look like...like a preacher.” This shows that Stacey cares about everyone and believed T.J. that it looked bad on him.
