Romanticism In The Masque Of The Red Death
In the story “The Masque of the Red Death”, includes the historic events of a deadly disease that had spread throughout the land hundreds if not thousands years ago, but in Poe changed it up as for his own perspective (fantasy). Therefore, one of the characteristics of Romanticism is having an interest of historic events. As for Transcendentalism, two of the characteristics is confidence/self reliance, and a connection with nature. An astonish example that fits into those characteristics is the two stories named “Self-Reliance” and “Nature” both written by Emerson. In “Self-Reliance”, it mentions that you must have confidence in order to live your life; not by following the footsteps of others, or the society standards, and to be your own leader
