Romeo And Paris Foil
In the Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Paris are foil characters. They have very opposite personalities and interests. While Paris is very selfish and dishonest, Romeo is truthful and honest. Both of them want Juliet's hand, but each one has a different reason. They do not get along with each other and are always in a sort of competition for Juliet's hand.
Juliet is originally supposed to marry Paris, but his intensions were not very sincere. Paris asked for Juliet's hand in marriage because she is from a respected and rich family. Romeo, on the other hand has very different intensions and wants to marry her because he truly loves her, he doesn’t have a financial or social interest.
Paris has a leverage, he is already friends
