Stump Speech
Hello Good Afternoon, I would first like to thank all of you for taking your time to listen to my speech. I truly appreciate you doing this because it shows that you care about who you are going to vote for.

The founding fathers built this great country on three principles life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Today these principles are being infringed. Hard-working Americans are being taxed more for working hard at their jobs. In prisons around the United, States people are having their freedom of speech taken away and are being tortured. The NSA and other unconstitutional agencies continue to spy on us. These issues and much more need to be stopped so we can restore the prosperity of this great country.

    Essay On Stop And Frisk

The Founding Fathers believed that the sanctity of individual rights must be held above all else, due to their prior experiences with the tyrannical rule of King George III of Great Britain. After the drafting and ratification of the Constitution, the United States government has introduced several laws and allowed several actions that compromise the liberties guaranteed by the Constitution in the supposed name of security or the general welfare. These laws include the Espionage Act which was introduced during World War I, and the use and allowance of ‘Stop and Frisk’ procedures amongst America’s various police agencies. The introduction and use of these laws and procedures were meant to keep the American public safe following outbreaks of war and to try and prevent weapon related violence, but they also compromise the liberties that are ensured to the…

Over the past several decades, we as a people have allowed the fundamental principles written in our Constitution to be forgotten, distorted, or completely ignored. This did not happen overnight but rather bit-by-bit over time until we are faced with a system of government that is not, as the founders intended, based on Federalism and individual freedom, but rather a National system far removed from the principles for which these men dedicated their lives, fortunes, and honor. Over the years, we have allowed the government to do more for us, and politicians have been more than happy to say yes. With no regard for our constitution, politicians have expanded the power to the federal government in order to take care of us. All the government asks for in return is a little piece of our individual liberty. As a consequence, our government of limited powers has evolved into a central government that seeks to control nearly every aspect of our lives. Through potentially unconstitutional legislation and burdensome regulation, our current federal government is over reaching into our economy, banking, energy, education, environment, immigration policy, manufacturing, labor, and let’s not forget health care.…

Our ever-growing federal government is intervening into more and more aspects of our lives, especially through bureaucratic regulations, and is reducing our personal freedoms in the process. Government at all levels is doing more and more things that were once left to private individuals and groups, and the federal government is doing more and more things that were once the province of state and local governments, where greater accountability to the public is often possible.…

When I think about the American government seven words come to my head and those words are “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Those words define what are government has been created for. It was created by the people for the people and today I think America is falling away from those beliefs that are founding fathers wrote so long ago. So how does America get back on track? Well for one I think the American Government has forgotten that this country has been blessed by The Lord our God and in doing so I think America is suffering for it. That’s just one subject that I think is wrong with the American Government but I’m going to talk a lot more than just that. I’m going to talk about the good and bad of The Constitution, Federal and State governments, the political party system, Civil Rights, Taxes and government spending, Government control of the economy, Socialism versus Capitalism, and the Checks and Balance System.…

America is based on two things: Blood and the Constitution. America is currently at war, fighting for our freedom. But what use is that if our Constitution, the very thing that grants us freedom, is no longer valid? Only five weeks after the September 11 attacks congress passed an act granting greater judicial power to information gathering agencies. The Patriot act, passed October 26 2001(New York Times), strips americans of their basic human rights as defined by the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.…
