Throughout the first act of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo exemplifies his humor and passion.
There are many examples where Romeo displays his witty and humorous personality. In scene 2, while Romeo and Benvolio are talking, Capulet’s servingman sees Romeo and asks him if he knows how to read. Romeo answers, “ay if I know the letters and the language” (1.2.66).
