10. No Smoking please – Smoking, whether active or passive, can lead to various complications and problems in pregnancy. Women, who smoke during their pregnancy, usually give birth to babies with low birth weight and their babies are more prone to get various health problems such as breathing and feeding problems, frequent infections and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
11. Delegate some household chores – Since you need to avoid exertion, you anyways can’t be doing
everything yourself. Delegate some household chores such as picking the garbage and gardening to someone else since these can make you come in contact with certain toxins and lead to parasitic infections.
12. Walk slowly- There is no need to walk as if you’re running a marathon. Walk slowly with firm steps as this will help you to balance and avoid tripping and falling. Be very careful in the bathroom. Make sure the floor isn’t too wet or slippery. Do not stand while bathing. You can keep a small stool and sit. This will also decrease the chances of slipping. Walk with your feet apart. This also helps to maintain balance with a growing belly and when you can’t watch your step!
13. Choose your Footwear wisely – Put away all those high heels and switch to comfortable flats since they help to maintain pressure at the right positions.
