Say No To Plastic Bags Plastic is a material that we can see everyday everywhere in our life, people all over the world are using plastic bags to carry something or other things and. Plastic bags are extremely dangerous for environment , it is one of the main problem why environment in the world is becoming worst . Plastic bags are non-biodegradable , it means that plastic bags cannot be turned into any other substance that benefiting environment . Even though plastics are being burned , it will remain as a plastic and cannot be anything else like other materials do . They get littered onto a wasteland which causes soil erosion causing damage and harm to the trees. If plastic bags are burnt, they emit hazardous gases causing air pollution which causes damage on the ozone layer. Plastic bags are given to people who usually buy something from the supermarket and it is free , mostly people will throw the plastic bags to the drain or street , this causes clogging especially during the rains . If there’s too much plastic bags in the lake or pond or drain , it creates flood and the layer that denies oxygen to everything below so that no plant and animal life can survive in that water body . If animals eat the plastic bags that been thrown in rubbish , they could die with painful death . The usage of plastic bags can be reduced by not using lots of plastic and use things in your homes then going to buy a plastic bottle from the shop.
Plastic bags are made out of non-biodegradable substance which is not organic because they are durable they do not rot . We need a lots of oil to make plastic bags and meanwhile , we also need to save oil as much as we can . If we are keep making plastic bags with no benefits to our environment , we are also making disadvantage of wasting oil. Plastic bags are killing a lot of sea animals like jelly-fish , dolphin , fishes and etc. Plastic bags get blown into the ocean and floats , a lot of animals mistaking it as a food so that they ate it and they died because it’s really harmful for them . As we can see from the news about animals , each year the rate of sea animals died because of plastic bags are increasing rapidly . This case must be noted by government so that our environment and sea creatures are not being harmed by plastic bags . Plastic bags must be banned in the grocery stores , instead of using plastic bags it’s better to use paper bag as the change because every time we buy something with only 1 or 2 items , they will give us plastic bags . I personally prefer to use cloth bag because it’s less pollution and it can be reused many times and they can hold more and not break easily . Plastic is one of the major toxic pollutants of our time. Being a non-biodegradable substance, composed of toxic chemicals, plastic pollutes earth, air and water. Plastic causes serious damage to environment both during its production and disposal. So the only way to reduce the hazards of plastic is to reduce the use of plastic and thereby force a reduction in its production. Not only animals, infants and young children have also been reported to have lost their life, on account of plastic bags. Since plastic bags are thin and airtight as well, children often end up blocking their mouths and nostrils with them. In case they are not being monitored by an adult, this leads to suffocation and, in some cases, even death . This case must be noticed by all of the government and parents to take away dirty plastics from their children , and the government must give actions about the misusage of plastic bags . One of the main disadvantages of plastic bags is that they are not renewable. The reason behind this is that they are made of petrochemicals, a non-renewable source of energy. They can be recycled, but not as easily as paper bags. Plastic bags can last for as much as hundred of years. In other words, long after you are no more, the plastic bag used by you will be in existence. Since plastic bags are not bio-degradable, the only way to get rid of them is to burn them up. Though lighting a match to them is easy, it has more than its fair share of disadvantages. The biggest of them is that smoldering plastics can release toxic fumes into the environment, in turn taking the air pollution to much higher levels.
