2. What is the HCC Library Catalog?
The HCC Library Catalog is a search engine through HCC Library webpage that allows students to find library books. You can search the catalog for a book using a keyword, the title of the book, the author. Also, you can search other HCC locations that are closer to your home or where you will be.
3. What library classification system is used in the HCC Library?
The HCC Library uses a Library of Congress System to classify books.
4. What are the hours of the HCC-SW, West Loop Center Library?
The hours of the HCC-SW, West Loop Center Library are Monday thru Thursday 7:30 a.m.to 9:00 p.m., Friday 7:30a.m.to 1:00 p.m. and Saturday 8: a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
5. What is the procedure for checking out books?
To check out a book you must have your student identification or a TexShare card. You can check out books at the Circulation Desk.

To obtain a book from other HCC Libraries you log into the library.hccs.edu website search for the book that you would like. Click on circulation. Select the location where you want to pick the book up.
7. How can I find access another library in Houston with TexShare?
TexShare is a card that is provided free of charge to all active HCC students. You can use the card at U of H, TSU and any HCC campus. The card doesn’t work at Rice University.
