While some think that they are just simple rules that prepare us for the open world. Although some people think that school dress codes are sexist, some people think that dress codes are just overrated. School dress codes should be simple, and not based on gender. They should have basic rules that apply to everyone. Most people think that the school dress codes are gender-based, because how some rules apply to guys and not girls. But, according to Ernst from WND, “They often focus more on girls’ clothes rather than boys’, but that is just because girls have more clothing options—which include more revealing choices too”(Ernst). From the beginning of the school year, the online and in school annual battle over school dress codes has grown more, and more. For a long time, no one would speak out or take action on what they think needed to be said. However, when parents and students started to speak out, everyone was talking about it. Although, some students and their parents are totally assured that school dress codes are a problem, others think that they are just simple rules to be followed.
