Sleeping throughout the day limit working time. When you a nap that is too long or takes a nap at the wrong time then you are hindering your work. Naps may benefit you, but naps also have many negative side effects. You will slowly realize the changes you have when you take naps. Ultimately, naps are not healthy for everyone. First of all, when you take a nap that’s too long, the nap will take on a negative effect. People always say that if you are tired or a bit sleepy, then taking a nap will solve the problem. However, according to the video Scientific Power of Naps, “When you sleep too long, you feel more tired, groggy, and want to go back to sleep.” So when you take a long nap, you won’t feel refreshed but you will feel sleepier than before. Feeling groggy isn’t going to help you on your work but it will only hinder you and accomplish nothing. Grogginess limits your concentration instead of helping you increase production rate, showing signs that the negative effect is starting to take action.

Furthermore, when you take naps you are ruining your sleeping pattern. In the article “Ask The Sleep Doctor,” it mentions that “you don't want to nap too late in the day. Why? Doing so can make it harder to fall asleep at night. “ This source states

In the article “How Much Sleep Is enough?” mentions “However, napping doesn’t provide all the other benefits of nighttime sleep. Thus, you can’t really make up for lost sleep.” See how this article states that you can’t make up for lost sleep with naps. Many people work late into the night and get tired on the next day. All of us need to sleep a certain amount of time but some of us won’t be able to sleep that long so we take naps thinking that it will improve and make up the lost sleep.
