This book, The Giver, has a very interesting story line showing limited freedom in the community. In a community where almost no freedom is given, chaotic events could occur if too much freedom was given. The community thinks that they have freedom, but to us, it seems as they have absolutely no freedom. There are many rules in the community, which none of occur to us. There seems to be no freedom in the community besides what is in their minds.
“Too much freedom could lead to chaos”. In this book there is not much freedom given to the community as it seems. To the community, they are free. The community believes that they have freedom but really, they do not. What if some rules were to be lifted; people could be free, but chaotic things would happen, because of such a drastic change. If the community was allowed to be somewhat free, bad things would be bound to happen. When people are granted there tasks at the ceremony of twelve. That is their task that they stay with, kind of like a job.
If people were not granted their tasks at the ceremony of twelve, there is a chance that people could not be able to find a task on their own. If the people could not find a task themselves, than they may not be able to afford a living, and there would automatically be chaos on the streets caused by homeless people.
