Sean Covey uses a positive tone in order to uplift teens while giving advice on how to change common bad habits. For example, in this quote Covey talks about a bad habit that is very common for teenagers while using a positive tone, “Boyfriend/ Girlfriend- Centered. For example, the author gives detail of the time he liked a girl to give the audience something to relate to, “I’ll never forget the time in seventh grade when I fell in love with a girl named Nicole. I told my friend Clar to tell her that I liked her. Clar completed his mission and returned to me (Covey, 7)”. This passage is very effective because it shows that everyone goes through the same things even the author. He gives vivid detail of what happened his seventh grade year. The author connects to the readers by giving them this visual to get the to laugh and have something in common with him. This quote is perfect to show how the author uses evidence to inspire teens to get rid of bad
