School year ends, different plans comes our way. Vacation here, gimmicks there, or even party everywhere. These are few of the things which drive the satisfaction of students when school is over. But practical students have better idea of spending their vacation wisely and this is to apply for a summer job. Special Program for the Employment of Students or better known as the “SPES Summer job Program” is a program spearheaded by our ever-dynamic Governor Edgar M. Chatto. This program is yearly done as a help for those poor but deserving students who wished to have a part on financial assistance on their studies. Good thing about this program is that, it is expanded to have more beneficiaries. So it is in this line that there will be more beneficiaries for this year compared last year.
There were greater number of students who exam and lucky for those who passed and qualify all the requirements and qualifications. Having the guts is not enough to apply for this program. You must have the eagerness to do the task given whatever it takes. As the saying goes, “Many are called but only few are chosen,” one must accept the challenge because not all who exam able to passed and not all who passed, qualified. On the day of the exam, I was a little bit nervous and to be honest, I doubt if I will be able to pass the exam because that was not the type of exam I expected. On the most awaited judgement day for the result, I was truly surprised when I read my name on the bulletin board, it only means, I passed the exam. With the help of my mother dear, I was able to comply all the requirements.
Orientation day came, the same day for the start of our summer job. I met some of my friends but the crowd was filled mostly with new faces on that day.
