Topic: Movie analysis on “Secondhand Lions”
Specific purpose: To inform my COMM M01 class the importance in believing.
Central idea: Getting in depth with the significance of believing in something even if it may not be true.
Introduction
Attention-getter: Hello everyone, today I’ve decided to analyze a specific movie clip from the movie “Secondhand Lions.” The title of my speech today is “Something Worth Believing In” I chose this movie clip to share with the class today because I believe it has a meaningful message for the public.
Relevance to audience: As human beings, we often find ourselves struggling to figure out what we do or don’t believe in, and we often base our beliefs on what the people around us believe.
Credibility material: We live in a very judgmental society, were people are constantly very critical about other peoples beliefs, therefore, this affects the way we think about ourselves and our beliefs.

Here we see Hub tell Walter “ If you want to believe in something… believe in it, just because something isn’t true.. thats no reason why you can’t believe in it.” A.
