About Your Instructor

Liang Ma earned her M.A. Degree in Communication Studies at New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Spring 2011. Liang taught a hybrid course of public speaking and human communication for two years at NMSU. She is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication whose research interests are Public Relations and Crisis Communication in Organizational Settings.

If your grade is calculated correctly, but you disagree with the grade you earned on an individual assignment and want to appeal it, please talk to the instructor in person during her office hours within 5 school days of receiving the grade you want to appeal. After your meeting with the instructor, if you still disagree with the grade you earned on that assignment, please provide a written appeal stating the specific reasons why you believe your assignment was incorrectly evaluated, and submit this written appeal to your instructor. The unresolved and written appeal will be taken to Dr. Wolvin, the course supervisor. You, Dr. Wolvin, and the instructor will set up a meeting to discuss your grade …show more content…

You will receive two points for every one hour that you devote to communication research studies. You also will receive two points for practicing your briefing or speech in the Media Center. However, you may not earn more than four extra credit points.

Evaluation

Each course component will be weighted as follows:

Participation and Effort 10 points

Interview Assignment 10 points

Group Presentation* 30 points

Midterm Exam* 30 points
