Security: Soldier and Accountability
We must be secure in your life, to keep your things safe from anyone or any damage. The consequences of losing items vary from item to item according to its value and importance. For us to be able to function in today’s society requires security. And this security is needed in almost every aspect of life; no matter how large or small it may be. One of the most important things that need security is as simple as a desk or wall locker. Almost everything we do each day can be found in one.
The importance of securing sensitive items comes down to maintaining accountability for operation security. Mission success and a soldiers over all readiness. By not securing an item it could be at risk to be taken by an unauthorized person. All personnel should maintain accountability of all material to allow full utilization by themselves and anyone involved. Security can be compromised through the loss of sensitive items due to loss of equipment used.
Depending on the sensitivity of item that is being classified it could fall under a different level of security. The habits of exercising security and accountability of a soldiers items allow the soldier and their team to operate to the highest standards or have items be accessed by an opposing adversary creating loss of overall mission success. While a Soldier's room is not in use all his/her personal belongings are to be secured in a wall locker and or secretary. The rooms hatch and head door will also remain secured as well. There are no reasons or exceptions to this for it is an order and disciplinary action can be a definite result of failing to do so could result in writing a essay on the subject. We are expected to do this for more than one reason, one would be to have to be uniformity, another would be the fact that since it’s a written order it’s unlawful to disobey it, the main reason would be the same reason why that order was put into practice in the first place.
