Self Assessment Strengths And Weaknesses
Self-assessment allows the person to be honest with themselves instead of fronting because of social pressure. In this self assessment I will talk about my strengths and weaknesses in not only writing but researching and synthesizing complex texts. I will point out my weaknesses and strengths of understanding the nature of writing and research, to perform a recursive inquiry based writing process and produce meaningful arguments addressing specific community. By writing down my weaknesses and strengths I can change my weaknesses into to strengths and reinforce my strengths in writing and research. For analyzing and synthesizing complex texts my strategies are to annotate the text, summarize and re-read to solidify my understanding. I feel …show more content…
The research also must be unbiased and show the pros and cons or the argument. To me engaging in a recursive, inquiry based writing and research process is a process by which a specific procedure is followed that is used to probe by questioning. My previous approaches have not been reclusive based as I usually waited till the last minute and scrambled to put something together. On inquiry-based research I would always use it because it would allow you to have more to write about and better evidence to support your arguments. When writing a first draft I would skip the introduction and conclusion until after I wrap up the body. For the body I would break it into sub categories and then write and elaborate as much as possible on each of my sub categories. I would then work on trimming the superfluous content. After trimming out the superfluous content I then started reworking the wording, grammar and general spicing it up. Finally, after all of the main work is done I would write up my introduction and …show more content…
I believe for research to get valued it needs to be approved or certified by others in the research field that are either accredited by their work or time spend in the field. For research and writing to get value it has to be about something people or society wants or needs. There is probably a lot I don't understand about writing and research that I don't know now. One thing being the context of various works. A questions I do have is if someone writes something that isn't properly researched but still moves people how bad is that and what is its negative effects on that

I believe the writing process is very complex but simple. The steps to the research process simple to follow, but complex at executing. I believe, that you have to find credible sources to retain information about your topic. Someone cannot simply just Google everything, and believe that all of the information is credible. The researcher has to check out books, and other resources to get the best information about their topic. After gathering information, the researcher has to present it in a way that their audience could understand.…

When you ask yourself research questions, it is helpful if you write down some tentative answers. That's the first step toward making an outline, or a plan, for your work. Carrying out research is a bit like building a house. In constructing the house, it pays to put time into planning and thinking. You don't wait to draw up blueprints until you are halfway finished constructing the house. To write a term paper, you also need a plan. Write down your ideas first without worrying too much about whether your plan is adequate or complete; you're likely to change it later anyway. Then start consulting other sources.…

What is research and its purpose in academic writing? Research is the process of finding information through various mediums to increase an individual’s knowledge about a certain subject. Similar to other students, each of my five strengths has a significant influence on my life at Grace as well as my studies. First of all, being an achiever clearly empowers me to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. A few of the characteristics of an achiever are great stamina, productive, and a hard worker; these will definitely benefit me in the coming years. Also, this strength will aid me in my goal of attaining good grades during my college time. No matter what, I always put my best effort into my work. I generally do what is asked of the teacher/professor without even thinking as well as do anything necessary in order to pay attention to what is being taught which more than likely will be an advantage for me.…

Research Paper - A research paper is a combination of various activities other than just writing it. If those are done correctly then there is a good chance that the writing part will be flawless. I believe the reason behind it is because you are spending so much time in doing those other activities, it gives you a clear and concise idea of the topic and most importantly, the confidence to write the paper. The other activities which I keep mentioning about are, choosing a topic, the actual research process on the topic, critical thinking, source evaluation and organization. When it comes to the composition part, it should be free from ambiguity and must have clarity. Coherence is another aspect that must be maintained throughout so there is flow to the process. The reader…

Two years ago, I would say nothing in particular provokes me about writing. I would rather spend my valuable time on presentations or discussions than writing research papers. I always found myself was lost. I couldn’t focus on the content of my prompt. I failed to make my words convincing and authoritative. I am not a good researcher, also not an outstanding rhetorical writer, even today, but I did find something valuable on myself in these two years.…

The first part of self assessing me was pretty important because it was a sum of my whole lifestyle in one. Giving me an overall look on what I should change or if I should even change any of my habits. My smoking score was a perfect 10, which was not surprising at all to me. My alcohol/drug score for this was seven points because I do drink. The score for my eating and exercising habits were perfect because I do a good job when it comes to eating right and working out on a daily. My stress control score was an eight, but I do understand why. I do know that I stress to some extent. My last score was safety and the score for that was a nine. I think my life is pretty amazing if you ask me.…

Ever since I was a little boy I have always loved writing and being able to write. I have always had my strengths within my writing but along with those strengths also came a lot of mistakes and weaknesses. If I am suppose to sit here and just list my weaknesses then I would exceed the three to five page limit by about 4 or 5 pages. So thank god that I have the option to list my strengths to try and convince people that I am somewhat of a good writer. So without further ado here is my self assessment essay.…

Each of the self-assessments were an eye opener to me and to what my life has been like since the first-time primary socialization has taken place. The results for my analysis were more focused on groups. Most of the words that I wrote down put me into groups with other people, such as, nursing student or bibliophile. The results for the second analysis were that I am in the normal range for self-esteem. The next analysis that I did told me that I believe we are all in control of our own fate. To me, this means that the actions I take determine how my life will play out and that the term luck is used by people who are too afraid to take control or do anything with their life. The fourth analysis showed me that in some situations my behavior…
