Working in an organization that is growing rapidly, I have learnt and appreciated the importance of Leadership and Communication. Leaders are not always those in higher positions of organization; they should be present at every level which will help sustain success of organization over a long period. A good leader is one who is able to influence and lead people to achieve common goals of the company. In my short experience of two years in corporate world, I have come across people who lead others by example. It is a very challenging task to build a dedicated team, which can only be done by a leader who himself is highly dedicated. Leaders do not believe in controlling people, they challenge one’s skills and capabilities for the growth of individual and the organization in common. They do not fear failure, rather inspire and encourage teams to take calculated risks.
Having worked in an IT industry in India, I have experienced the strengths and challenges of dealing with diverse group of people. In India, most medium sized organizations have people speaking several different languages and come from various states and cultural backgrounds. As the Indian constitution says “Integrity in Diversity” is the strength of the country, the policy is well adopted in most of the organizations. I have observed that people in such diverse groups adapt to changes easily. Though there are many benefits of this diversity, it also brings challenges with it. In a situation of conflict, a leader needs to be impartial and objectively listen to everyone. They have to care equally for the well-being of all employees.
Technology of this era is evolving every day. It is necessary to keep up with these changes. I have observed that a good leader recognizes such challenges. They tend to organize team trainings or provide necessary resources for quality improvement. They never hesitate to learn from younger generation or their team members. It is well said that “Leadership

Wouldn’t everyone love to go out and eat at restaurants every night and not have to worry about spending money? This is what Ruth Reichl does for living. Reichl is an incredible writer, person, and food critic. She wrote her memoir Garlic and Sapphires, telling her life story from her point of view. “The book is about an institution, the New York Times, but also about the transformations — both physical and emotional — that Reichl made in order to succeed there.”(Traister). Reichl disguises herself and eats at the fanciest restaurants in America. “Garlic and Sapphires is Reichl’s third memoir. Her previous memoirs deal with relationships between food and love. I believe that a leader must be honest and have high ethical standards for themselves as well as their team. Confidence and communication are critical to getting the entire team on the same page. A leader must be able to communicate their thoughts and ideas to their team. In order for the team to work together as one unit, they must understand the path they need to take and what the result should look like. When the leader exhibits confidence not only in themselves but their team, people will be more likely to follow their lead. Lastly, inspiration. Having an inspired leader will inspire the team to see the same visions and future for the…

When one thinks of a leader, what type of person do we think of? Is that individual a hero that we see on television, a cartoon character, a family member, or is that person a public servant? Regardless of occupation and title, a leader is a person who inspires others and they know how to motivate people. “When they arrive, you see something about them that stands out. The inner strength of their leadership ability emerges”. (Gonzalez, 2007, February 1). Leaders are individuals in your area of work who are focused on the tasks at hand and they have a clear and concise vision on what their respective organizations are set out to do.…

In many organizations leadership is the key to a company success, and many companies find out the hard way that managers do not always demonstrate the abilities to be leaders. Managers who do not demonstrate these abilities are individuals, who have been given a hierarchy position, follow the “corporate code” and do not think outside the box. Also, “managers with the best intentions in the world often flub opportunities to get invaluable feedback from subordinates. Managers may send unintentional messages that they’re too busy to be bothered, not respond to subtle hints, or simply fail to schedule regular feedback opportunities” (Ashford University edition, 2007, p.30). Many managers fail to realize that to be a great leader you must have followers; your followers believe in you, and they want to succeed. In my years of being a manager I have worked for leaders that think they have all the answers and do not need the help of the people that work under them. I have seen that this may work for a little while but in the long run it tends to back fire on them and the company as a whole. This leads to what I feel a leader is and how the qualities of an effective leader are spread out through organizations.…

A leader must be able to move quickly from one agenda to another. A leader must be able to inspire a person or a group of people to want to do their best. A definition of leadership can be, “A relationship through which one person influences the behavior of other people” ( Mullins, p. 904 ). One of the biggest problems that a leader in any organization has to deal with is change. Leaders have to be versatile and willing to make tough decisions in today’s economic climate. We will analyze what it takes to be a successful leader and how to manage the people around you for the best results. Asking questions of what constitutes a successful leader will also be part of the agenda.…

Successful organizations need leaders at every level, whether be CEO of a Fortune 500 company, coach of a NFL team, or manager of a local supermarket. Effective leadership builds confidence amongst the participants of an organization, in addition to acting as the catalyst for the aspects of the organization to work in tandem. Fortunately, being a leader does not require a certain title or degree. Leadership is an “attitude, not a position” (Grant et al. IHI, 2017). A leader is one who “creates conditions that enable and encourage others to achieve a shared goal through collective action” (Bohmer, 2013). Therefore, everyone can be a leader in a distinct way.…

Diversity in management is a major task. There are many aspects related to diversity, such as: culture, religion, and gender, just to name a few. It is important to remember that different people have different values and morals. Treating each person as an individual may be a difficult task for some managers. For managers who hire, hiring people with different backgrounds can enhance the team’s performance by introducing different perspectives and ideas. The planning process includes identifying how to integrate these ‘different’ people into the team. Ensuring the necessary resources are available to train and develop personnel based on their experience and education is a big part of organizing. Leading a team of diverse individuals can be quite interesting. Each person must be empowered and motivated to come to work and perform at his or her best. Controlling and monitoring each individual’s performance and how each person relates to others is mandatory for the team to be cohesive.…

We need to know the importance of being a leader by example. If someone wants to be a real leader, that person has to show this characteristic. Bring people up in work areas, if someone's having a hard time encourage them, affect them in a positive way. Do not just speak like a positive example, but also be a positive example by showing it, do the right thing when nobody's watching, when with friends do not let them trick anyone into…
