Milou Dijkstal
Curiosity. It is the first word that comes to my mind when having to describe my personality. From a young age onwards, I have been naturally curious, ranging from going on epic, wild adventures in the forest to combining tomato and peanut butter. This curiosity has shaped me in so many ways, I was always trying new things, therefore discovering new interests, finding out what my talents were and what weren’t, etc. This way, over the years, I have created several areas of interest, which still remain today. It are those interests that I want to dive into even more than I already have and, possibly, combine. The idea of following an academic education after high school was never a question for me, it seemed like a normal thing to do. You go to university, get your diploma and soon after get a job. Of course, I now know it is not that simple. Nevertheless, the thought of following an academic education and all the aspects of it excited me and I looked forward to it, still do! My interest have been set, I am quite confident about that. Art, philosophy and economics are what enjoy learning and doing most. Art being the main interest. As a child, since my mother is an artist, I would draw and paint whenever I could, but not with a special meaning. I would simply draw what I saw, copy it. As soon as I started following art courses in school, I studied Renaissance painters and realised that art most of the time portrayed a certain message or meaning. Quickly, my interest evolved into an ‘obsession’, particularly for one artist; Banksy. I was so captivated about his work, he was able to use all his knowledge on political, philosophical,
