When I started at ASHS, I thought I was going to spend the next three years in the culinary arts field, learning the right way to prepare foods and deserts. That was not what I ended up doing, I ended up in healthcare and now I’m lad that I am in healthcare because I can fulfill my dream as becoming a NICU nurse. On the surface, to an outsider, I am sure that this is what it appears that I am a bubbly type girl that would not go into nursing, but I love everything about nursing. In most all my classes I push myself to make above 90's, I quickly found out that that there is no reason to overdo myself. One specific experience I will have while in the nursing field is that I will be able to go and enter the Work Base Learning program next year, and I can work with patients in the hospital. I know I will have a great time and will learn so much more than I ever could have from not having hands on activities. The opportunity to do that will show me that there are so many ways that one can learn that are both fun and educational.
The nursing courses also taught me how important the healthcare field really and how important it is to work well in critical conditions. Also how important it is to ask your patient all important questions to make sure their not allergic to some
